• உலக நலவாழ்வு அமைப்பானது (WHO) சமீபத்தில், ‘உலகளாவிய காசநோய் அறிக்கை-2020’ என்ற தலைப்பில் ஓர் அறிக்கையை வெளியிட்டது. அந்த அறிக்கையின்படி, COVID-19 கொள்ளைநோயின் காரணமாக விதிக்கப்பட்ட நாடடங்கை அடுத்து, 2020 ஏப்ரலில் காசநோய் பாதிப்பு சதவீதத்தில், சுமார் 85% அளவுக்கு இந்தியாவில் குறைந்துள்ளது. இருப்பினும், 26 சதவீதத்துடன் உலகில் மிக அதிகமாக காசநோயால் பாதிப்படைந்துள்ள நாடாக இந்தியா உள்ளது.
