‘புலிகள் மாநிலம்’ என்று அறியப்படும் மத்திய பிரதேசத்தில் நிகழாண்டு 27 புலிகள் இறந்துள்ளன. ஒட்டுமொத்தமாக நாட்டில் 74 புலிகள் இறந்துள்ளன. தேசிய புலிகள் பாதுகாப்பு ஆணையத்தின் வலைதளத்தில் வெளியிடப்பட்ட தகவல்களில் இந்த விவரங்கள் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளன.

அதன்படி, நிகழாண்டு தொடக்கம் முதல் ஜூலை 15 வரையிலான காலகட்டத்தில், நாடு முழுவதும் 74 புலிகளின் இறப்பு பதிவாகியுள்ளது. அதிகபட்சமாக, மத்திய பிரதேசத்தில் 27 புலிகள் இறந்துள்ளன.
