• உலக மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் நாளானது ஆண்டுதோறும் டிசம்பர்.3 அன்று கடைப்பிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. உலக மாற்றுத் திறனாளிகள் நாளானது கடந்த 1992ஆம் ஆண்டிலிருந்து ஐக்கிய நாடுகளின் பொதுச்சபையால் ஆண்டுதோறும் கடைப்பிடிக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. ஒரு பில்லியனுக்கும் அதிகமான உலக மக்கள் அல்லது உலக மக்கள்தொகையில் தோராயமாக 15 சதவீதம் பேர், ஏதோவொரு வகையான ஊனத்துடன் வாழ்கின்றனர். மொத்த ஊனமுற்றவர்களில் 80 சதவீதம் பேர் வளரும் நாடுகளில் வாழ்கின்றனர்.

• ஆன்மிக மணம் கமழும் தமிழ்நாடு முழுவதும் உள்ள திருக்கோவில்களில் கைபேசி பயன்படுத்துவதற்கு மெட்ராஸ் உயர்நீதிமன்றம் தடைவிதித்துள்ளது. அந்நீதிமன்றத்தின் கூற்றுப்படி, வழிபாட்டுத் தலங்களின் தூய்மை மற்றும் புனிதத்தைப் பேணவே கைபேசி பயன்பாட்டுக்குத் தடைவிதிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. கோவில்களில் மக்களுக்கு இடையூறு ஏற்படாத வகையில் கைபேசி காப்புப்பெட்டகத்தை அமைக்க வேண்டும் என்றும், இந்த ஆணையை பின்பற்றுவதை உறுதிசெய்ய பாதுகாப்புப் பணியாளர்கள் நியமிக்கப்படுவார்கள் என்றும் மெட்ராஸ் உயர்நீதிமன்றம் கூறியுள்ளது.

• நடுவண் பெருநிறுவன விவகாரங்கள் அமைச்சகத்தின் தரவுகளின்படி, COVID–19 தொற்று பரவியதிலிருந்து அதிக எண்ணிக்கையிலான புதிய நிறுவனங்களை மகாராஷ்டிர மாநிலம் சேர்த்துள்ளது. அதைத்தொடர்ந்த இடத்தில் உத்தர பிரதேச மாநிலம் உள்ளது. உத்தர பிரதேச மாநிலம் கடந்த மூன்று ஆண்டுகளில் சுமார் 30,000 புதிய நிறுவனங்களைச் சேர்த்துள்ளது. மகாராஷ்டிரா மற்றும் தில்லிக்கு அடுத்தபடியாக செயல்படும் நிறுவனங்களின் எண்ணிக்கையில் உத்தர பிரதேச மாநிலம் மூன்றாவது இடத்தில் உள்ளது.

• உணவு மற்றும் உழவு அமைப்பின் “Agreement on Port State Measures (PSMA)” ஆனது சட்டவிரோதமான & முறைபடுத்தப்பெறாத மீன்பிடித்தலைத் தடுத்தற்காக வடிவமைக்கப்பட்ட முதல் சர்வதேச ஒப்பந்தமாகும். அங்கோலா, எரித்திரியா, மொராக்கோ மற்றும் நைஜீரியா ஆகிய நாடுகள் அண்மையில் இந்த ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டன. இதையடுத்து இந்த ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்ட நாடுகளின் எண்ணிக்கை நூறு ஆனது.

• ஆறு முறை உலக மகளிர் குத்துச்சண்டை சாம்பியனும் ஒலிம்பிக் பதக்கமும் வென்ற மேரி கோம் இந்திய ஒலிம்பிக் சங்கத்தின் தடகள ஆணையத்தின் தலைவராக தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். இந்த ஆணையத்தின் துணைத்தலைவர் பதவிக்கு டேபிள் டென்னிஸ் வீரர் சரத் கமல் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டார். ஒலிம்பிக்கில் பதக்கம் வென்ற பி வி சிந்து, ககன் நரங், மேரி கோம் மற்றும் மீராபாய் சானு உட்பட 10 ஒலிம்பிக் வீரர் / வீராங்கனைகள் இந்திய ஒலிம்பிக் சங்கத்தின் தடகள ஆணைய உறுப்பினர்களாக போட்டியின்றி தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டனர்.

• நடுவண் நிதியமைச்சர் நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் தேசிய முதலீடு மற்றும் உட்கட்டமைப்பு நிதியத்தின் (NIIF) நிர்வாகக் குழுமத்தின் 5ஆவது கூட்டத்திற்கு தலைமைதாங்கினார். NIIFஇன் முதல் இருதரப்பு நிதியம்–தேசிய முதலீடு மற்றும் உட்கட்டமைப்பு நிதி லிட் மற்றும் பன்னாட்டு வளர்ச்சிக்கான ஜப்பான் வங்கி (JBIC) ஆகியவற்றுக்கு இடையேயான புரிந்துணர்வு ஒப்பந்தத்தின்மூலம் முன்மொழியப்பட்டது. அது இந்திய அரசின் பங்களிப்புடன் முன்மொழியப்பட்ட ‘இந்தியா–ஜப்பான் நிதியம்’ ஆகும்.

• ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities’ is observed on 3 December every year. The annual observance of the International Day of Disabled Persons was proclaimed in 1992 by United Nations General Assembly. More than one billion people, or approximately 15 per cent of the world’s population, live with some form of disability. 80 per cent of the total disabled people live in developing countries.

• Researchers at the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE), IISc, have developed a highly energy–efficient computing platform that offers promise in building next–generation electronic devices. Instead of using complementary metal–oxide semiconductors (CMOS), the team used components called ‘Memristors’ that can both store data and perform computation.

• As per recent data, National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) announced that the country’s annual rate of HIV infection has declined by 46 per cent between 2010 and 2021. The decline is against the global average of 32 per cent. According to NACO, AIDS–related mortalities have also declined by 76 per cent against the global average of 52 per cent during the period.

• The Chhattisgarh Assembly unanimously passed two amendment bills to raise Reservations in government jobs and admission in educational institutions to 76%. According to the bills, Scheduled Tribes will now get a quota of 32%, Other Backward Classes 27%, and Scheduled Caste 13%, while the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) will get 4% reservation in public employment and admissions in educational institutions.

• The Madras High Court has banned mobile phones in temples across Tamil Nadu. As per the Court, the move to ban use of mobile phone is to maintain purity and sanctity of the places of worship. The High Court also said that phone deposit lockers should be set up at temples, to avoid inconvenience to people and Security personnel will be appointed to ensure compliance of this order.

• As per the data from the corporate affairs ministry, Maharashtra has added the most number of new companies since the outbreak of COVID–19, followed by Uttar Pradesh. The vice Chairperson position went to Sharath Kamal, ace table tennis player. 10 Olympians, including Olympic medallists PV Sindhu, Gagan Narang, Mary Kom and Mirabai Chanu were elected unopposed as members of the Athletes Commission of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA).

• Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman chaired 5th Meeting of Governing Council of National Investment and Infrastructure Fund (NIIF). NIIF’s first bilateral fund – an ‘India Japan Fund’ with contribution from Government of India has been proposed through an MoU between National Investment and Infrastructure Fund Limited (NIIFL) and Japan Bank for International Development (JBIC).
