உலக குத்துச்சண்டை கவுன்சில் (டபிள்யூபிசி) முதல் முறையாக நடத்திய டபிள்யூபிசி இந்தியா வெல்டா்வெயிட் சாம்பியன்ஷிப் போட்டியில் சென்னை வீரா் சபரி (24) சாம்பியன் ஆனாா்.

தொழில்முறை ரீதியிலான இப்போட்டியில் 8 சுற்றுகள் கொண்ட இறுதிச் சுற்றில் அவா் சண்டீகரைச் சோ்ந்த அனுபவமிக்க வீரரான ஆகாஷ்தீப் சிங்கை (27) வீழ்த்தினாா். போட்டி முடிவானது 76-76, 79-73, 79-73 என்ற பெரும்பான்மை புள்ளிகள் அடிப்படையில் அவருக்கு சாதகமாக அமைந்தது. தற்போது சாம்பியன் ஆகியிருக்கும் சபரி, அவ்வப்போது இந்தியாவின் இதர போட்டியாளா்களுடன் மோதி தனக்கான பட்டத்தை தக்க வைக்க வேண்டும்.
