BSF – Border Security Force :
BSF is the Primary Border guarding force of India. It is one of the 5 Central Armed Police Force of India.
Directorate General Border Security Force has recently released their notification for the post of Constable (Tradesmen) for the Young Male Indian citizens, whereas 561 vacancies are available . PAY SCALE:
Pay Band- I : Rs. 5200 – 20,200/- + Grade Pay Rs.2000/- + admissible allowances.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
Below mentioned particulars are Basic Eligibility criteria for applying BSF
- Educational Qualification:
Matriculation or Equivalent from Recognized University or Board with
2 Years work Experience in Respective Trade
OR
1 Year certification course from Industrial Training Institute / Vocational Institute
with atleast 1 year experience in Trade.
OR
2 Year diploma from industrial training institute in trade
Employee serving in the same Rank and pay grade will not entitled to apply.
2. Age Limit : Between 18 to 23 Years as on 1st August 2016.
3. Age Relaxation : For SC/ST ,its upto 5 years in upper limit age, For OBC its upto 3 years in upper limits, For Candidates from J&K and others its upto 5 years in upper limit.
4. Physical Fitness Standards :
a. ST /Adivasis of all state /UT must require Height of 162.5cms and Chest of 76-81cms
b. Mens belongs to Sikkim,Nagaland,Manipal,J&K are must require Height of 165 cms and Chest of 78-83cms
c. Other state : Must Possess Height of 167.5 cms and Chest of 78-83
Candidates belong to Physically handicapped category are not Eligible.
5. Medical standards :
This Medical standards is very much important in terms to serve the Country. Hereby which includes Visual and Color vision.
The candidates must not have knock knees, Flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes.
They must be in good mental and physical health for duties in all places including in high altitude and fit to serve border areas with extreme climatic conditions and must be free from any defect likely to interfere with efficient performance of the duties.
HOW TO APPLY :
Candidates can send their application Only through Offline Mode by means of POST,which should be sent to Respective State RAs / Headquarters on (or) before 20.06.2016 along with requested documents.

Each application form should be accompanied by a Demand Draft/postal Order for Rs 50/- (Fifty) as Examination Fee in favor of Concerned IG/Commandant payable at bank or post office of concerned RAs/Headquarters, under which their state falls. However, fee is exempted for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe & Ex-Servicemen.
Incomplete or defective in application shall be Rejected without any notification.

BSF SELECTION PROCESS :
Once the application process is completed, the next level of recruitment will be Selection Process as below listed,
- PST ( Physical Standard Test) ,whereas they go through and check out Height Test ,later it was followed by PET only for candidates who qualified in PST.
- PET ( Physical Efficiency Test), candidates shall undergo 5kms Race within 25mins. Later on it followed by Biometric identification ,etc. No PET will be held for Ex-Servicemen. PET is just for qualifying in nature , it will not carry any marks.
- SCREENING of Document/ Testimonal conducted by Board of Officiers in BSF. Persons serving in Govt. /Semi Govt. department has to provide their “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE” which is available in official link as ANNEXURE –III
Each candidates are required to submit copy of domicile certificate of their State while applying for the post, if applicable.
- TRADE TEST:
The candidates who qualify in the PST & PET will be put through the respective Trade Test. Each candidate will be allowed to appear for one trade test only as entered in the application form. The Trade test will be qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks.
- WRITTEN TEST : ( Total Marks : 100) – Duration : 2 Hrs
There are totally 100 questions whereas the qualifying marks for GEN & EX.Servicemen is 35% and for SC/ST/OBC is 33% . Its purely offline exam which is OMR based objective type multiple choice questions using Black ball point pen.
Question Pattern : It consists of General Awareness / General Knowledge, Elementary Maths, Aptitude and Logical Reasoning, General English/Hindi.
Question paper will be printed both in Hindi / English language. Its based on Class – 10 standard as syllabus.
Only Written Test, Trade Test and Medical Examination will be conducted for EX.Servicemen.
- MEDICAL EXAMINATION :
Medical examination will be conducted after the written test. Candidates will be called for medical examination in order of merit.
The candidates who are declared Unfit in Medical examination and not satisfied with the findings of the Medical Examination, can submit their appeal within 15 days from the date of medical examination for appearing in Review Medical Examination along with a proof of his fitness certificate in the prescribed form with enclosing Demand Draft ofRs.25/-
CHECKLIST BEFORE SENDING DOCUMENT :

- Please download Annexure I & II from bsf.nic.in . Take print-out of both forms and affix your recent passport size photograph dully self-attested by the candidate.
- Self-attested copies of Matriculation or equivalent certificate as proof of age.
- Self-attested copies of Educational qualification, Technical qualification and Trade experience certificates as proof of Education & trade experience.
- Self-attested copy of caste/category certificate for SC/ST/OBC candidates issued by an officer not below the rank of Tahsildar or SDO/SDM etc.
- Self-attested copy of Domicile certificate issued by an Officer not below the rank of Tahsildar or SDO/SDM etc.
- One self-addressed envelope of size 23x 10 cms with affixed postage stamps for Rs.27/- bearing name and full postal address of the candidate with PIN Code.
- Envelope must be superscripted in BOLD as “ APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CONSTABLE( TRADESMEN) IN BSF- 2016 “
