ISHAN UDAY SCHOLARSHIP

             The Ishan Uday Scholarship is the special scholarship scheme from Ministry of Human Resources and University of Grants Commission (UGC). It is one of the government organizations with a provision to grant 10,000 scholarships to students from the Northeast whose parental income is below Rs. 4.5 lakh per annum. The main objective of this scholarship is to promote the higher education and to encourage the children belonging to economically weaker and also to provide equal opportunities for higher education in Northeast regions. The UGC provides 10,000 scholarships for each general vocational courses, technical courses, and courses including doctors and paramedics. The main objective of this scholarship is to provide equal opportunities for higher education in North East Region, to increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio (GER) in NE Region, to focus more on professional education in NE Region, to provide optimum utilization of NER Budgetary allocation and it is envisaged to provide ten thousand fresh scholarships every year. As per this even for this year 2016-17 the notification has been passed by inviting applications.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

           Applicants who want to apply for the Ishan Uday Scholarship they should have domicile of NER and should have passed Class XII or equivalent exam from school situated within NER through recognized Board of Education, including Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE), National Institute of open schooling (NIOS) within NER only. Candidates should have secured admission in general degree course, technical and professional courses including medical and Para-medical courses (integrated courses included) in Universities/Colleges/Institutions recognized by UGC under Section 2(f) of UGC Act, within and outside the state of NER. For availing scholarship under this scheme, the income of the parents of the students should not exceed Rs.4.5 lakh per annum. For the eligible applicants the amount of fellowship that they get is for General Degree is Rs. 3500/- per month for Technical and Professional Courses including medical and Para-medical courses will get the scholarship of Rs. 500/- per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the applied student.Ishan Uday Scholarship 2016-17 UGC Scheme Eligibility Application Available To Download at Official Website.

SELECTION PROCESS

            The UGC will award 10,000 fresh scholarships per year. In case the number of applicants exceeds the number of scholarship available the applicants will be selected on the basis of marks scored by them in the class XII or equivalent exam.

APPLICATION FORM

      The application form for this Ishan Uday Scholarship is available in their official website www.ugc.ac.in. In the homepage of the official website a link will be available on Ishan Uday UGC Scholarship 2016, first read the notification carefully and then click on Apply Online link. Fill the application form with the necessary details and attach the required documents that re asked in the application. After filling the form have a cross check the details and then click on Submit button. Take a print out of it for future use. Applicants must be submitted before the last date i.e., 31st august 2016.

ISHAN UDAY SCHOLARSHIP RENEWAL

          The Ishan Uday UGC Scholarship is continued for the students who are unable to get promoted to next class because of their academic performance. But after the second attempt if the student does not score well his/her scholarship will be cancelled. In case of candidates unable to attend for the examinations due to health problems there scholarships can be renewed to next class. But they have to submit the medical certificates and related proofs to the head of institutions.  The students will have the benefit of scholarship if they change their stream of study which was not taught by the school in 12th class like Law and Fashion Technology. Students who have changed their college will continue to get the benefits of scholarships provided that the new institution or college and its course are recognized.
