The University of Kota is also known as UOK. It was established in the year 2003 by the Government of Rajasthan through “The University of Kota Act, 2003” and notified by State Government Gazette No. F.2 (12)/Vidhi-2/ 2003 dated 7th June 2003. The university came into existence through enactment of Government of Rajasthan order No. F.21 (@) Edu-4/2003 dated September 9, 2003 under the provision of section-4(1) of “The University of Kota Act, 2003”. The university has been included in the list of Universities maintained by the UGC. presently around 173 colleges with approximately 2,25,000 students of six districts of the state, namely Kota, Bundi, Jhalawar, Baran, Karauli and Sawai Madhopur are under the territorial jurisdiction. The university has six faculty namely, arts, Commerce and Management, Education, Law, Science and Social Science. It is one of the growing universities in the state and unfolding its wings in the area of teaching and research. The university itself is responsible for providing syllabus, text books, and exam schedule for semester.
