The Shipping Corporation of India well known as ‘SCI’ has published an official recruitment notification to recruit about 40 Graduate Marine Engineers (GME) Posts. According to the SCI GME Post Recruitment Notification – 2017, the Shipping Corporation of India decided to fill up about 40 vacancies in central government cadre and the SCI invites the Applications from the eligible and interested candidates for Admission to the GME Posts. SCI decided to give training to the Graduate Marine Engineer Posts and these Training Classes are commencing from 1st October 2017.

Graduate Marine Engineers (GME) Post Training Courses are going to be held at SCI’s Maritime Training Institute at Powai, Mumbai.
SCI Recruitment 2017 Important Details

The Recruitment Panel members decided to conduct the written examination for selecting the desired candidates to the Admission of GME course which is scheduled on 9th September, 2017. Then coming to know about the Age limit for applying for these posts is maximum 28 years as on 1st October, 2017 for General Category candidates.
The Age Relaxation will be applicable i.e. 5 years relaxed from the upper age limit for SC / ST Category candidates, 3 years relaxed from the upper age limit for OBC Candidates and as per the Government Rules for Ex-Service Men Category. The Organization also ensures the Candidate’s Medical Fitness to select for the SCI GME Posts – 2017. The Educational Qualification prescribed by the SCI officials for the above posts are that candidates should have the following educational qualifications, i.e. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering) from any AICTE Approved Engineering College.
Equivalent degree or degree with specialization or electives other than the above educational qualification will not be acceptable. Final year / semester students who have appeared for their final exams and expecting their results by date 31st August, 2017 are also eligible for apply. Candidates should have a valid Engineering degree certificate / Provisional Certificate with minimum 50% of Aggregation Marks in final year of Engineering which has to be submitted at the time of interview. However, candidates should have secured at least 50% marks in English language at SSLC (10th) and HSC (12th) are not able to apply for the above mentioned posts.
SCI Recruitment 2017 Course Fees and Application Fees
Then the Course Fees for the above training is Rs.4,50,000 (Rupees Four Lakhs Fifty Thousand only) for both the male and female candidates. Candidates has to pay the course fee to the Maritime Training Institute (MTI), Powai, Mumbai. Fees once paid are not refundable at any cause either in full or part. The Consolidated stipend of Rs.15,000/- per month will be paid to all the candidates for structured shipboard training and No stipend will be paid to candidates during shore based training.
Selection process for SCI Recruitment includes the following process that Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the All India online written examination and the candidates those who are qualifying the online written examination will be called for next round of selection i.e. Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3. The online Examinations will be conducted in following examination Centers such as Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai. Application Fees for the General / OBC Candidates is Rs.1,000/- and for all other Candidates (SC / ST / Ex-Service Men / PWD) Application Fee is Rs.500/-.
