Candidates having a Graduation degree from a recognised university are eligible to apply for the Sub Inspector of Police Post. Students currently doing their graduation degree are not eligible to apply for the post. TNUSRB has been recently conducted the examination for Constable posts (Tamilnadu special Police, Armed Force, Fire Services) and released the examination results and also shortlisted the candidates who were cleared their Physical Eligibility Tests. Followed by the Constable posts, TNUSRB is going to out the notification for the Sub-Inspector posts soon in various departments.

Educational Qualification
- For Sub – Inspector of Police (Fingerprint)
Candidates having Graduation degree in science form a University grant commission are eligible to apply for the post.
- For Sub – Inspector of Police (Technical)
A second class diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering awarded by the State Board of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu or A Degree (B.E/B.Tech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering
- For Sub – Inspector of Police (Taluk, Armed Reserve, TSP)
Candidates having Graduation degree in any discipline form a University grant commission are eligible to apply for the post.

Age Limit
- For General candidates 20 to 28 years
- For BC, BC(M)/MBC/DNC – 20 to 30 years
- For SC, SC(A) /ST – 20 to 33 years
- For Destitute Widow – 35 years Ex-Servicemen, Ex-personnel of Central Para Military Forces (CPMF)/ persons who are serving in Army/CPMF and going to retire within 1 year from the last date of receipt of application – 45 years
