TN PWD APPRENTICE NOTIFICATION FOR THE YEAR 2020: Tamilnadu public works department has announced the recruitment of apprentice posts and technician for the year 2020. POSTS AVAILABLE:
- GRADUATE APPRENTICE – 160 POSTS
- TECHNICAL APPRENTICE – 120 POSTS
ELIGIBILITY:
- GRADUATE APPRENTICE – A graduate degree in engineering or technology from a recognized educational institution approved by the central or state government.
- TECHNICIAN – A diploma degree in engineering or technology from a recognised authorized board of education by state or central government.
NOTE:
- Persons who have graduated or diploma holders passed out in the year 2017,2018,2019 and 2020 are only eligible.
- Persons who have already undergone or undergoing Apprenticeship in this scheme are not eligible and /or having one or more years of experience are also not allowed.
SALARY STIPEND:
- Graduate apprentice – The salary stipend of a graduate apprentice for a month is 4984/-
- Technician – The salary stipend of a technician for a month is 3542/-
DURATION OF TRAINING:
The duration period of training for the selected candidates will be one year according to the Apprenticeship rules.
HOW TO APPLY:
This is an apprenticeship post in PWD,so it is necessary one should register themselves in the Board Of Apprenticeship Training( BOAT). So depending on that an individual should apply.
PERSONS ENROLLED IN NATS:
- Login in to your enrolment number given during your registration.
- Click on the establishment request menu.
- Click find establishment.
- Upload your updated resume in it.
- Choose the establishment name.
- Search for “PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TAMILNADU”
- Click apply and click apply again.
PERSONS WHO HAVE NOT ENROLLED IN NATS:
STEP 1:
- Kindly move to the website mhrdnats.gov.in for your enrollment.
- Register yourselves by providing the information required.
- Complete the application form carefully.
- After completion, you will receive a unique enrollment number as your NATS login.
Note: Kindly do wait for a minimum of one day before moving on to step 2 for the documents to be uploaded and verified.
STEP 2:
- Login using your credentials to the website.
- Click on the establishment request menu.
- Click find establishment.
- Upload your updated resume in it.
- Choose the establishment name.
- Search for “PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TAMILNADU”
- Click apply and click apply again.
SELECTION PROCESS:
The process of selection and shortlisting depends on the whole responsibility of Board of apprenticeship training (BOAT). The candidates will be selected on the basis of the percentage or grade secured by them in the prescribed educational qualification. It analyses the various online applications received in the website and undertakes the process of short listing based on their merits and marks scored. It prepares the shortlisted candidate list for the document verification. The candidates will be intimated through their individual mail id. They are supposed to attend this document verification in Chennai.

BRIEFLY ABOUT TN PWD:
Tamilnadu public works department (PWD) is a state government authorized body which works as the main public sector of Tamilnadu government. This emphasize on the construction , maintenance, planning and designing the public structures like bridges, roads and all the government body building infrastructure.
HISTORY OF PWD:
- It is the largest and the oldest department that was brought in by the British in the year 1800. It is constantly working for the public sector for a valid long period.
