1] Salman Khan :- Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has been ranked first on the 2016 Forbes India Celebrity 100 List with an estimated income of Rs 270.33 crore. The Forbes’ ranking is based on two parameters: estimates of entertainment-related earnings and estimates of fame during the period October 2015 to September 2016. Beside him, Shah Rukh Khan has been ranked second, followed by Virat Kohli, actor Akshay Kumar and MS Dhoni.

2] Alternate consumer disputes redressal :- The National Consumer Day (NCD) is observed every year in India on December 24 to promote the basic rights of all consumers. On this day, the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 had received the assent of the President. This year, in 2016, the Ministry of Consumer Affairs will celebrate the NCD with the theme “Alternate Consumer Disputes Redressal” at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

3] Punjab :- The first 2G (Second Generation) ethanol bio-refinery will be set up at village Tarkhanwala in Bathinda, Punjab with an approximate investment of Rs 600 crores. The Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), a Central Government Public Sector Undertaking, will set up the project. The foundation stone laying ceremony for the project will held on December 25, 2016. The purpose of the bio-refinery is to encourage production of Second Generation (2G) Ethanol from agricultural residues to provide additional sources of remuneration to farmers, address the growing environmental concerns and support the Ethanol Blended Petrol (EBP) programme for achieving 10% Ethanol Blending in Petrol.

4] Indian Women’s Under-18 team :- has clinched the bronze medal in the 2016 Women’s Under-18 Asia Cup hockey tournament at the National Hockey Training Centre in Bangkok, Thailand by defeating Republic of Korea by 3-0. For their creditable bronze-winning performance, Hockey India announced cash rewards of Rs. 1 lakh for each player and Rs. 50,000 for each of the support staff. Beside this, China has clinched gold where as Japan won silver medal in the 2016 Women’s Under-18 Asia Cup hockey tournament.

5] Argentina :- The Argentina national football team has won the 2016 FIFA Team of the year title.

6] Luge Shiva Keshavan from India :- has recently won gold at the 2016 Asian Luge Championship in Nagano, Japan. He dominated the event and finished the 2 heat race with a time of with a time of 1 minute, 39.962 seconds and top speed of 130.4 km/h to clinch the title. Shiva will take part in the 2017 World Championship in Innsbruck, Austria and will compete in the World Cup circuit in the lead up to the qualification process for the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Korea.

7] China :- The first-ever joint military exercise “Pratikar-I” will be held between Nepal and China on February 10, 2017. The focus of the military exercise will be on training Nepali forces in dealing with hostage scenarios involving international terror groups.

8] Hrithik Roshan :- The Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan has recently launched a one of its kind Braille-Tactile children’s book series “Tactabet” in Mumbai, Maharashtra. The alphabets books available in both Hindi and English are created to enable integrated and fun learning for visually impaired and kids with low vision. The child is not only able to learn his alphabets but instantly feel the shape of the word associated with each one of them. Tactabet is the brainchild of the team behind White Print, India’s first English lifestyle magazine in Braille.

9] Venkaiah Naidu :- The Union minister of Urban Development, Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Information & Broadcasting (I&B), M. Venkaiah Naidu has recently launched ‘Google toilet locator’ mobile app in partnership with Google. The app will integrate data on all public toilets–even those in private buildings–with Google maps. The app will have additional features such as cleanliness ratings, whether the toilet is of western or Indian style, or if it is free or paid. The app will have listings covering Delhi NCR, including Ghaziabad, Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad and Bhopal and Indore in Madhya Pradesh. Toilets can be located not just through the app, but on the desktop as well. The service will be accessible to users both in English and Hindi language.

10] Praful Patel :- an Indian politician and businessman, has been re-elected as the president of All India Football Federation (AIFF) for the term 2017-2020. The AIFF is the organisation which manages the game of association football in India. The headquarters of AIFF is located at New Delhi.
