The Tamilnadu Public Service Commission ( TNPSC) has announced a mass number of Vacancies in the Combined Civil Services Examination – IV (Group IV and VAO) for the year 2022. The vacancies are said to be 7301 Posts. The applications are being invited from Eligible candidates from 30.03.2022 to 28.04.2022.

Tnpsc group 4 recruitment 2022 age limit :-
The age limit is being categorised on the basis of the post and also according to the community to which the candidate belong. So here are the complete details of which, are given below.
For Village Administrative Officer Post:
1.SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all Castes.
Minimum age : 21 Years
Maximum age : 42** Years
2.“Others”
Minimum age : 21 Years
Maximum age : 32** Years
**As per G.O (Ms). No.91, Human Resources Management (S) Department, dated 13.09.2021, the Maximum Age Limit prescribed for appointment by direct recruitment has been enhanced by 2 years.
Note:
• “Others” [i.e., Applicants not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs] who have put in 5 years and more of service in the State / Central Government are not eligible to apply even if they are within the age limit.
For the Posts of Junior Assistant (Non-Security), Junior Assistant (Security), Junior Assistant in Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, Junior Assistant in Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Bill Collector Grade-I, Bill Collector in Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board, Typist, Steno-Typist (Grade -III) , Steno Typist (Grade -III) in Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board and Store Keeper in Tamizhagam Guest House, Udhagamandalam :
Minimum Age (should have completed) : For all
• 18 Years
The Maximum Age (should not have completed) for all the candidates according to the community and Category they belong are as follows: –
1.SCs, SC(A)s, STs and Destitute Widows of all Castes :
• 37** Years
2.MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs :
• 34** Years
3.“Others” [i.e., Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs] :
• 32** Years

• No maximum age limit for applicants belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s, BCMs and Destitute Widows of all castes who possess a General Educational Qualification which is higher than the Minimum General Educational Qualification (i.e. who have passed P.U.C/H.S.C/Diploma/Degree)
Explanation : No maximum age limit shall mean that the applicants should not have completed 60 years of age either on the date of Notification or at the time of selection/appointment to the post.
Age Concession (for all posts) :
For Persons with Benchmark Disability:
• Persons with Benchmark Disability are eligible for age concession upto 10 years over and above the maximum age limit prescribed above. [Section 64 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016 and as per Para 5D of “Instructions to Applicants”]
For Ex-Servicemen:
• The maximum age limit is 55 Years for the applicants who belong to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCM)s and BCMs.
• The maximum age limit is 50 years for “Others” (i.e.) Applicants not belonging to any of the above said categories. [Section 63 of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016 and as per G.O (Ms). No.91, Human Resources Management (S) department, dated 13.09.2021] [Refer Para 5B of “Instructions to Applicants”]
• The above mentioned age concession will not apply to the Ex-servicemen applicants who have already been recruited to any class or service or category. [Section 3(j) of the Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Conditions of Service) Act, 2016]
Tnpsc group 4 recruitment 2022 educational qualification :-
The educational qualification along with the required specialization for each post is given in detail format below.
1.Village Administrative Officer :
• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies (or) to College Courses of Studies.
2. Junior Assistant (Non – Security), Junior Assistant (Security), JUNIOR Assistant in Tamil Nadu Housing Board, Bill Collector Grade-I, Bill Collector In Tamilnadu Urban Habitat Development Board :
• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of Studies.
3. Typist :
• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of Studies.
• Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting:-
i) By Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or)
ii) By Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/ Junior Grade in English (or)
iii) By Higher/Senior Grade in English and Lower/ Junior Grade in Tamil.
Note:
Selection Procedure for Typist
• Candidates with technical qualification referred to in item (i) will be selected first.
• In case candidates with technical qualification referred to in item (i) are not available, candidates with technical qualification referred to in item (ii) will be selected.
• In case candidates with technical qualification referred to in item (i) and (ii) are not available, candidates with technical qualification referred to in item (iii) will be selected.
4. Steno-Typist(Grade- III) & Steno-Typist (Grade–III) In Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board :
• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of Studies.
• Must have passed the Government Technical Examination both in Typewriting and in Shorthand:-
i) By Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English (or)
ii) By Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and Lower/Junior Grade in English (or)
iii) By Higher / Senior Grade in English and Lower/ Junior Grade in Tamil.
Note: Selection Procedure for Steno-Typist (Grade-III)
• Candidates with technical qualification referred to in item (i) will be selected first.
• In case candidates with technical qualification referred to in item (i) are not available, candidates with technical qualification referred to in item (ii) will be selected.
• In case candidates with technical qualification referred to in item (i) and (ii) are not available, candidates with technical qualification referred to in item (iii) will be selected.
Note: “Intermediate Grade in Shorthand is not equivalent to Senior Grade.”
5. Store Keeper In Tamizhagam Guest House, Udhagamandalam :
• Must possess Minimum General Educational Qualification viz., Must have passed S.S.L.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to Higher Secondary Courses of Studies or to College Courses of Studies.
• Experience in the maintenance of store accounts for a period of not less than two years.
6. Junior Assistant In Tamilnadu Urban Habitat Development Board :
• Must have passed H.S.C Public Examination or its equivalent with eligibility for admission to College Courses of studies.
Note:
• Those who have not passed SSLC Examination or its equivalent are not eligible even if they possess a higher qualification.
• Applicants claiming equivalence of qualification to the prescribed qualification should upload and submit evidence for equivalence of qualification in the form of Government Order (G.O) issued on or before the date of this notification when called for, failing which, their application will be summarily rejected after due process. The Government Orders regarding equivalence of qualification issued after the date of this notification will not be accepted for this recruitment. [For further details regarding equivalent of qualification refer note under para 9 of “Instructions to Applicants”].
• The equivalence of qualifications in respect of Typewriting and Shorthand are provided in Annexure-IV.
Important Note:
• The eligibility criteria for the possession of the claims of Educational qualification / Technical qualifications including the publication of results and claims towards special reservation to Differently Abled persons, Destitute Widows and Ex-servicemen should be as on the date of this Notification (i.e. as on 30.03.2022)
Computer Qualification (for Typist and Steno-Typist (Grade – III):
• Applicants should have passed the “Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation” awarded by the Technical Education Department.
Note:
• Applicants who do not possess the said qualification (viz. Certificate Course in Computer on Office Automation) conducted by the Technical Education Department may also apply. If selected, they should acquire the qualification within the period of their probation.
Tnpsc group 4 recruitment 2022 salary : –
The Salary for the posts mentioned in the recruitment along with their level pay is given as follows :-
1.Village Administrative Officer, Junior Assistant, Bill Collector Grade-I & Typist :
• The salary of a village administrative officer is Rs.19,500 – 71,900/- (Level 8)
2.Steno-Typist(Grade–III) :
• The salary of steno typist in grade III is Rs.20,600 – 75,900/- (Level 10).
3.Store Keeper :
• The salary of store keeper is Rs.18,500 – 68,000/- (Level 6).
4.Bill Collector in Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board :
The salary of bill collector is Rs.16,600 – 60,800/- (Level 3)
Tnpsc group 4 recruitment 2022 selection procedure : –
The recruitment of TNPSC Group 4 posts and VAO is said to be taking place in two steps:-
1. Written Examination
2. Certificate Verification
Written Examination :
A written examination will be conducted in offline mode of single paper. This examination will be of SSLC standard and objective type paper. The total marks for this examination is 300 Marks. The candidates have to attend the examination and make their choices in a OMR Sheet.
Certificate Verification :
The candidates who have cleared the First stage, will be invited for the second stage i.e., certificate verification. The candidates should present themselves with the required documents in the commission’s office.
Tnpsc group 4 recruitment 2022 exam pattern : –
The exam pattern for this recruitment can be divided as two sections :-
1. General Tamil
2. General Studies
Both these sections will be of SSLC Standard only. The total marks for the written examination is 300 marks comprising of 200 questions.
SECTION I : GENERAL TAMIL
The Board has announced only General Tamil will be available in the section I . Here, there will be 100 questions all of SSLC Standard. This section plays a major part in the question paper
SECTION II : GENERAL STUDIES :
General studies comprises of Various topics and it contributes 100 questions in the question paper. This section is also of SSLC Standard.

General Studies :
In General Studies , it has two subdivisions :
• General Knowledge – 75 Questions
• Aptitude & Mental Ability – 25 Questions
• Total – 100 Questions
General Studies comprises of the following subjects :-
• General Science
• Current Affairs
• Geography
• History and Culture of India
• Indian National Movement
• Indian Polity
• Indian Economy
• History, culture, heritage and socio – political movements in Tamilnadu
• Development administration in Tamilnadu
• Aptitude and mental ability
Note :
• General Tamil question will be set only in Tamil.
• General Studies questions will be set both in Tamil and English.
