The salary set by the government as per the revised pay on 2017 is as follows: –
- Principal/ Vice principal/ AD: The salary is 56, 100/- to Rs.1, 77, 500/- (level 22)
TNPSC principal/ vice- principal / assistant director recruitment age limit 2021:
The age limit for the candidates who are interested and willing are to meet certain age limit to apply for this post as follows: –
- For SC, ST, SCA, MBC, DC, BC(OBCM), BCM and destitute widows of all candidates
Minimum age limit: 24 years
Maximum age limit: No age limit
- For other candidates:
Minimum age limit: 24 years
Maximum age limit: not completed 30 years of age as on the date of notification

The eligibility standard for applying to this post of assistant director, principal, vice-principal recruitment is given by the board is as follows: –
- A degree in any branch of engineering or technology from any recognised university or institute under the control of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
- The specified degree with practical experience in any workshop or company not less than 3 years.
TNPSC principal/ vice- principal / assistant director recruitment selection procedure 2021:
The recruitment to the post of principal, vice principal, assistant director selection process takes place in the order of two stages: –
- Written examination (PAPER I & II)
- Interview & Records
Written examination:
The written examination for this recruitment will be of two papers: PAPER I & PAPER II . The written exam will be conducted for 500 marks. There will be of two sessions for different papers. Based on the marks they acquire, the candidates will be shortlisted for the next round.
Interview & Records:
Interview will be held for 70 marks. This interview will be more or less like an oral test. Candidates are advised to attend this interview in a formal attire. Based on the written examination marks and interview, the aspirants will be selected and provided with offer letter.

The candidates who are interested are to pay a required fees amount to apply for this recruitment as follows: –
- Registration fees:
Candidates are to pay Rs.150/- as registration fees and register themselves in one time registration (OTR) which is valid for 5 years.
- Examination fees:
Candidates are to pay the examination fees of Rs.200/-
Note:
- Candidates belonging to SC, ST, SCA, disabled persons and destitute widows are fully exempted from examination fees.

The exam pattern for this recruitment is of two papers: –
- Paper I
- Paper II
Paper I:
Paper I is the degree standard paper based on the Basics of engineering (subject code: 230). This paper will be of 200 questions comprising several topics related to engineering. This paper will be the predominant one to score. The duration of the exam will be 3 hours and the total score is 300 marks.
Paper II:
Paper I is a General studies(subject code: 003) section comprising of 100 questions held for a total of 200 marks . The general studies will be of 75 questions and aptitude and mental ability of 25 questions. This portion will cover all areas of general studies and current affairs of degree standard. The duration for this paper is 2 hours.
Paper I : 300 marks
Paper II : 200 marks
Interview : 70 marks
Total : 570 marks
