Hyderabad :- Rajen Habib Khwaja, an IAS officer of 1976 batch, has recently took charge as the new Director General of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI) at a ceremony in Bella Vista, Hyderabad. Khwaja, who superannuated from service on February 2014, had held key positions such as Secretary to the Government of India in the Ministries of Tourism and Mines and Chairman and Managing Director of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). The ASCI is the prestigious institute in training managers since 1956 and its headquarters is located at Hyderabad, Telangana.

Injeti Srinivas committee :- The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has recently constituted a committee to suggest improvements in the National Sports Development Code (NSDC) and functioning of Indian Sports Federation. The committee will be headed by Injeti Srinivas, which will suggest improvements in the present NSDC on the basis of suggestions and feedback given in these meetings and submit a report within a month so that Sports Bodies work as per the public expectations for the promotion of sports in India.
3. “NTR Arogya Raksha” a new health scheme has been launched by which state government?
Andhra Pradesh :- The Andhra Pradesh Government has recently launched a new health scheme “NTR Arogya Raksha” in Vijayawada to offer medical insurance to those who were not covered under any of the existing health schemes of the state government. The health scheme will provide the medical treatment to the people below Above Poverty Line (APL) at Rs.1200 premium per annum. Under it, Rs.2 lakh worth medical treatment would be provided free of cost in any 432 corporate hospitals in the state.

Gujarat :- India’s first laser technology-based advanced Automatic Vechime Monitoring System (AVMS) RTO check-post has set up at Shamlaji of Aravalli district in Gujarat. The check-post is equipped with advanced ray technology with a cost of Rs 4.72 crore, which will help to eliminate irregularities and interventions done by middle-men. The advanced AVMS RTO check-post will provide transparent, sensitive, decisive and progressive government to the people.

Rafael Nadal :- Rafael Nadal, a Spanish professional tennis player, has won the 2016 Mubadala World Tennis Championship by defeating David Goffin in the final by 6–4 and 7–6 at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex in United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was the 8th edition of the Mubadala World Tennis Championship with the world’s top players competing in the event, which was held in a knockout format. The winner received a purse of $250,000.

Pakistan :- Imtiaz Ahmed (88), a member of Pakistan’s first-ever Test team, has recently passed away in Lahore. He was known as an aggressive batsman who had a variety of strokes, most notably the hook and the pull shot. He scored 2,079 Test runs for Pakistan with a career best of 209 against New Zealand in Lahore in 1955. The death of Imtiaz leaves former batsman Waqar Hasan, who now lives in London, as the lone survivor from the Pakistan team’s first Test tour to India in 1952-53.

Berger was born in Hackney, north London and began his career as a painter.
