Tripura University is the state’s first institution of higher education. It is the main public or Central Government University of the state Tripura. This university is ranked 4th position in Eastern and 43rd position in all India according to the survey. It was established on 1st October 1987 and has its campus at Tripura, India. This University offers Post Graduation Studies in Science, Arts & Commerce, Post Graduate Diploma, Vocational Under Graduate Program, Certificate Course and Integrated Master Degree Programme (IMD).
Around 27 colleges are affiliated to this university. It conducts various examinations for all odd and even semesters for UG and PG courses every year. Tripura University conducts Semester examination twice in a year, Annual and semester examination will be conducted in the month of March-April 2016 and also conducts entrance examination in the month of May/June.
