UIIC is expanded as United India Insurance Company and it was established for service from February 18th of 1938. The headquarters had been located at Chennai. In the beginning of 1972 it was recognized as General Health Insurance Company. It has combined southern region of life insurance companies into UIIC and it has also merged around 22 companies into it. Currently it has got 1340 branches throughout India.
