UPSC have announced the dates for the recruitment of various post for the combined defence services . Candidates who wish to empower themselves and also serve the country have to grab this golden chance, as the written examination are planned to held in October. Combined Defence Services Examination
CDS is the important examination which conducted by the UPSC for recruit candidates for Indian Air force ,Indian Naval Academy , Military Academy and Officer Trainer academy. UPSC conducts this examination twice a year who want to make their career with national defence academies.
Vacancy Details
As the total number of vacancies about to fill up is 457 which is categorized academy wise as below,
Indian Military Academy, Dehradoon: 200 Posts Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala: 45 Posts Air Force Academy, Hyderabad: 32 Posts Officers Training Academy, Chennai: 175 Posts Officers Training Academy, Chennai (For Women): 5 Posts
Nationality
A candidates must either be Indian Citizen/Bhutan/Nepal/ Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1963 with the intention of permanently setting in India/ a person of India origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently setting in India.
Educational Criteria
For Indian Military Academy / Officers’ Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent
- ii) For Indian Naval Academy: Bachelor of Engineering
iii) For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering
For CDS exam, applicants can be from any stream but for entry to Air Force and Navy, candidates should have studied physics and maths up to Class 12. Final Year students can also apply.
Age Limit
Candidates who wish to serve in CDS have the age limit of 18 to 24 years (i.e. born between 02nd July 1993 and 1st July 1998). Age relaxation is applicable as per the government norms. Unmarried Male candidates can only apply and for the women, Unmarried Women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorces (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible.
Application Fees
Candidates who are interested in this recruitment of OBC and General category have to pay Rs 200 and for the SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates has no application fees.
Payment is only through any Branch of SBI by Cash, State Bank of Bikaner and Jaipur/State bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card/Net Banking.
Examination Centre
Candidates have to select their preferred examination centre as per their locality. But final decision is only taken by the officials. The listed centres are Agartala, Gangtok, Panaji (Goa), Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Patna, Aizawl, Imphal, Port Blair, Allahabad, Itanagar, Raipur, Bangalore, Jaipur, Ranchi, Bareilly, Jammu, Sambalpur, Bhopal, Jorhat, Shillong, Chandigarh, Kochi, Shimla, Chennai, Kohima, Srinagar, Cuttack, Kohima, Srinagar, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram, Dehradun, Lucknow, Delhi, Madurai, Tirupati, Dharwar, Mumbai, Udaipur, Dispur, Nagpur, Vishakhapatnam.
Selection Process
Candidates who will be selected based on the marks secured in the CDS written examination. The shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview by SSB. In Interview personality test and intelligence test will be conducted. Final merit list will be based on the cumulative of all the selection rounds.
Written Examination Pattern
The IMA, INA, IFA written examination consist of multi choice objective questions with maximum of 300 marks for the duration of 2 hours. The main content of syllabus is from General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, English Knowledge and for the OTA written examination is for 200 marks with duration of 2 hours from General knowledge and English Language.

Fill up the Part 1 registration carefully and then after entering all your qualification details .Please cross check to confirm and then click on submit
Now select the option of application fees. If you are in the exemption then you will skip this step. After the completion of application fees payment successfully through any of the provided mean then click on Part II registration.
Upload your signature and photograph and check the declaration and submit to complete your registration process.
