What is meant by mains exams in TNPSC?

TNPSC for higher level cadre examinations,shortlists the candidates by a two stage examination i.e

1. Preliminary examination

2. Mains examination

Those who qualify the preliminary examination, will be asked to write the main examination. This main written examination will consist of 3 papers of conventional essay-type papers for 750 marks.

The medium of question paper will be in both English and Tamil. Those candidates who qualify the main written exam will be called for an interview round to attend .
