What is the revised syllabus for TNPSC Exams?

As the TNPSC takes questions mainly on the SAMACHEER books of all Standards in Tamilnadu. The syllabus of these standards are revised and to be revised in the future.

If you are new to TNPSC exams, you can start and complete the new syllabus first and then study old syllabus books.

• In the academic year of 2018- 2019, the standards 1st,6th,9th and 11th were changed.

• In the academic year 2019- 2020, the standards 2nd,7th,10th and 12th are changed.

• In the academic year 2020- 2021,the standards 3rd, 4th,5thand 8th will be changed.

Newly added topics in group 1 syllabus :

In the newly updated syllabus , it tends to be the same as group 2 syllabus.

 Earlier it had only 8 topics whereas now it has 10 topics under it.

The topics added as UNIT VIII & UNIT IX are-

1. History, Culture , Heritage & socio – political movements in India

2. Development administration in Tamilnadu.

In group 4 syllabus, still now there is no official notice for change of syllabus from the commission . Since it is only of the SSLC standard, it is more unlikely to change the subject general English / tamil from the syllabus. Keep preparing yourselves for the same syllabus until official announcement from TNPSC.
