Tnpsc group 2 / 2A posts age limit 2022 :

The Board has set up a certain age limit to apply for this post and it varies according to the category the candidate belong. It is as follows :-

Minimum Age limit ( for all categories ) :

• For all posts (Except Probation Officer in the Department of Prisons and Correctional Services) : 18 Years

•Sub-Registrar, Grade-II in Registration Department : 20 Years

• Probation Officer in the Department of Prisons and Correctional Services : 22 Years

Maximum Age Limit :

Others [i.e., Applicants not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BC(OBCMs) and BCMs] :

• 32 Years

Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyars), Scheduled Tribes, Most Backward Classes / Denotified Communities, Backward Classes (OBCMs), Backward Classes (Muslims) and Destitute Widows of all categories:

• No Maximum age limit.

Note:

1. Junior Employment Officer (Non-Differently Abled) in Employment and Training Department (Employment Wing) :

• A degree in Arts or Science or Commerce or B.O.L., of Annamalai University or B.B.A., of Madurai Kamarajar University or B.Litt., of Madras University or B.B.M., or B.Litt., of Bharathiyar University.

2. Probation Officer in the Department of Prisons and Correctional Services:

• A degree of B.A., or B.Sc., or B.Com., or B.O.L., of Annamalai University or B.B.A., of Madurai Kamarajar University or B.Litt., of Madras University or B.B.M., or B.Litt., of Bharathiyar University.

Preferential Qualification:

Provided that other things being equal preference shall be given to persons

i) Who possess M.A., Degree in Criminology or Sociology or a Degree in Sociology or Psychology or

ii) Who holds a Diploma in Sociology or Psychology in addition to a Degree in any subject other than Sociology or Psychology or

iii) Who has rendered Social Welfare Work for a period of not less than one year or

iv) Who possess a Diploma in Social Work awarded by the Madras School of Social Work

3. Assistant Inspector of Labour in Labour Department :

• A degree in Arts or Science or Commerce or Engineering or B.O.L., of Annamalai University or B.B.A., of Madurai Kamarajar University or B.Lit., of Madras University or B.B.M., or B. Litt., of Bharathiyar University.

Preferential Qualification:

• Provided that other things being equal preference shall be given to candidates

(i) Who possess the M.A., Degree in Social Work or

(ii) Who possess the Diploma awarded by the Madras School of Social Work. Or

(iii) Who possess the M.A., Degree in Applied Psychology of the Sagar University. Or

(iv) Who has undergone the Diploma Course of 2 years duration of the Institute for Labour Welfare Workers, Bombay (or) The Xavier Labour Relation Institute, Bihar or

(v)Who has undergone the diploma course of PSG School of Social Work, Coimbatore on Labour Specialisation or the Post Graduate Diploma Course in Social Services conducted by the Institute of Social Science, Loyola College, Madras under the direction of the Indian Institute of Social Order, Pune. Or

(vi) Who possess the Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) of the University of Baroda. Or

(vii) Who possess a Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Administration awarded by the Tamil Nadu Institute of Labour Studies. Or

(viii) Who possess a Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management, Industrial Relations and Labour Welfare awarded by the Madras Productivity Council. Or

(ix) Who possess a P.G. Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations, conducted by the Madurai Institute of Social Work, Madurai. Or

(x) Who possess a M.A., Degree in work Education awarded by the University of Madras. Or

(xi) Who are released Short Service, Regular Commissioned Officers or Emergency Commissioned Officers or Other Ex-servicemen.

4. Sub-Registrar, Grade-II in Registration Department :

• A Bachelor’s Degree of any University or Institution recognised by the UGC for the purpose of its Grant.

Preferential Qualification:

• Provided that other things being equal preference will be given to persons who possess a B.L. degree in addition to the qualification specified.

5. Junior Employment Officer (Differently Abled) in Employment and Training Department (Employment Wing)

a) A degree in Arts or Science or Commerce or B.O.L., of Annamalai University or B.B.A., of Madurai Kamarajar University or B.Lit., of Madras University or B.B.M., or B.Litt., of Bharathiyar University

b) Differently Abled persons whose physical disability shall not be less than 40%. Differently Abled person who applies for appointment to the post of Junior Employment Officer-Differently Abled should produce at the time of certificate verification, a Medical Certificate obtained from a Medical Officer of the rank not lower than that of the Civil Assistant Surgeon showing the nature and degree of his Physical impairment.

6. Special Assistant in the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Department :

• Any Degree and

Technical Qualification:

• Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting both by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English.

7. Special Branch Assistant in Intelligence Section of the Police Department :

• Any Degree and

Technical Qualification:

• Persons appointed should pass the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting by Higher / Senior Grade within a period of two years from the date of his/her appointment unless he/she has already passed the said examination.

Preferential Qualification:

• Preference will be given to those who have passed Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand atleast by Lower / Junior Grade.

8.Special Branch Assistant in Criminal Investigation Department :

• Any Degree and

Technical Qualification:

• Persons appointed should pass the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting by Higher / Senior Grade within a period of two years from the date of his / her appointment unless he / she has already passed the said examination.

Preferential Qualification:

• Preference will be given to those who have passed Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand atleast by Lower / Junior Grade.

9.Municipal Commissioner, Grade-II in Municipal Administration Department :

• A Degree of any University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission.

8. Assistant Section Officer in Secretariat (Other than Law and Finance Department) :

(i) A Master’s Degree; or

(ii) A Bachelor’s Degree and a B.G.L Degree; or

 (iii) A Bachelor’s Degree with First Class in any one of the parts. Provided that in the case of a candidate belonging to SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC (Other than BCM) and BCM it shall be sufficient if he / she holds a Bachelor’s Degree.

9. Assistant Section Officer in Secretariat (Law Department):

• B.L., Degree awarded by any University recognised by the University Grants Commission.

10. Assistant Section Officer in Secretariat (Finance Department) :

• A Master’s Degree in Commerce or Economics or Statistics or A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Economics or Statistics with a pass in the final examination of the ICWAI.

11. Assistant Section Officer in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission :

i) A Master’s Degree; or

(ii) A Bachelor’s Degree and a BGL Degree; or

(iii) A Bachelor’s Degree with First Class in any one of the parts. Provided that in the case of a candidate belonging to SC, SC(A), ST, MBC/DC, BC (Other than BCM) and BCM it shall be sufficient if he / she holds a Bachelor’s Degree.

12. Full Time Residential Warden (Men’s Hostel) in Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai :

i) A Bachelor’s Degree of any University recognised by the University Grants Commission.

 ii) Must be an Ex-serviceman who has worked in the Army in the rank of Junior Commissioned Officer.

13. Senior Inspector of Co-operative Societies in Department of Co-operative Societies :

a) A Degree of any University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be Deemed as University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. Or

b) A Diploma in Rural Services awarded by the National Council of Rural Higher Education. Or c) A Diploma of Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Preferential Qualification:

• Provided that other things being equal, preference shall be given to the candidates possessing such qualification and in such order as specified below: i) M.A., Degree in Co-operation; or ii) M.Com., Degree with Cooperation as one of the subjects; or iii) B.A., Degree in Co-operation; or iv) Higher Diploma in Cooperative Management awarded by the Natesan Institute of Co-operative Management, Madras; or Institute of Co-operative Management, Madurai. V) Diploma in Cooperative Business Management awarded by the Vaikunta Mehta National Institute of Cooperative Management, Pune.

14. Audit Inspector in the Audit Wing of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department:

• A Degree of B.A., or B.Sc., or B.Com., or B.O.L., of Annamalai University or B.B.A., of Madurai Kamarajar University or B.Lit., of Madras University or B.B.M., or B.Litt., of Bharathiyar University Note: Persons professing Hindu Religion alone are eligible to apply for this post.

15. Assistant Inspector in Local Fund Audit Department :

• A Degree of B.A., or B.Sc., or B.Com., or B.O.L., of Annamalai University or B.B.A., of Madurai Kamarajar University or B.Litt., of Madras University or B.B.M., or B.Litt., of Bharathiyar University.

16. Supervisor / Junior Superintendent in Agricultural Marketing and Agri Business Department :

• Any Degree

Preferential Qualification:

• Provided that other things being equal preference shall be given to persons who have passed the Government Technical Examinations in Book-Keeping by Higher / Senior Grade.

17. Handloom Inspector in Handlooms and Textiles Department :

i) Degree in B.A., or B.Sc., or B.Com., of any University recognised by the University Grants Commission

ii) A Diploma in Handloom Technology or Textile Technology or Textile Processing or Manmade Fibre Technology awarded by the State Board of Technical Education and Training in Tamil Nadu.

18. Revenue Assistant in the Revenue Department in various Revenue Units :

• A Degree from any University recognised by the University Grants Commission .

19. (i) Personal Clerk in Secretariat (other than Law and Finance Department)

(ii) Personal Clerk in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission

(iii) Steno-Typist in Secretariat (Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly) :

• Any Bachelor’s Degree

Technical Qualification:

(i) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting:- both by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English and

(ii) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand:- both by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English Provided that if candidates with the qualifications referred to in items (i) and (ii) above are not available, candidates who have passed the following examinations in the order of preference indicated below will be considered for selection namely: – a. Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand in Tamil both by the Higher / Senior Grade and Typewriting and Shorthand in English both by the Lower / Junior Grade. B. Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand in English both by the Higher / Senior Grade and Typewriting and Shorthand in Tamil both by the Lower / Junior Grade.

(iii) Certificate course in Computer on Office Automation awarded by the Technical Education Department.

Note:

• Candidates who do not possess the qualification in “Computer on Office Automation” conducted by the Technical Education Department may also apply. If selected they should acquire such qualification within the period of their probation.

20. Personal Clerk in Secretariat (Finance Department)

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Economics or

Technical Qualification:

i) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Typewriting:- both by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English and

(iii) Must have passed the Government Technical Examination in Shorthand:- both by Higher / Senior Grade in Tamil and English Provided that if candidates with the qualifications referred to in items (i) and (ii) above are not available, candidates who have passed the following examinations in the order of preference indicated below will be considered for selection namely: – a. Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand in Tamil both by the Higher / Senior Grade and Typewriting and Shorthand in English both by the Lower / Junior Grade. B. Government Technical Examination in Typewriting and Shorthand in English both by the Higher / Senior Grade and Typewriting and Shorthand in Tamil both by the Lower/ Junior Grade.

 (iii) Certificate course in Computer on Office Automation awarded by the Technical Education Department.

• Candidates who do not possess the qualification in “Computer on Office Automation” conducted by the Technical Education Department may also apply. If selected they should acquire such qualification within the period of their probation.

Assistant in the following departmental units:- Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Industries and Commerce, Land Administration, Land Reforms, Prisons and Correctional Services, Police, Medical and Rural Health, Transport, Registration, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Divisions of Commercial Taxes, Backward Classes Welfare, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Labour, Highways, Archives and Historical Research, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, NCC, School Education, Social Defence, Directorate of Vigilance and Anticorruption, Forest, Urban and Land Ceiling, Stationery and Printing, Survey and Settlement, Technical Education, TNPSC, Secretariat, (other than Law and Finance Department), in Secretariat Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Director General of Training (Civil Services Training Institute, Bhavani sagar), Sugar and Revenue Administration

• Any Bachelor’s Degree

22. Accountant in Treasuries and Accounts Department :

• Any Bachelor’s Degree Other things being equal preference shall be given to persons who holds a degree in Commerce.

• Any Degree from any University recognised by the University Grants Commission.

24. Assistant / Accountant in Sericulture Department :

25. Executive Officer, GradeII in Town Panchayat Department :

• A Degree of any University or Institution recognised by the University Grants Commission.

26. Planning Junior Assistant in Tamil Nadu State Planning Commission :

Note:

• The educational qualifications prescribed for these posts should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the following order of studies viz. 10th + HSC/Diploma or its equivalent + U.G. Tnpsc group 2 / 2A posts selection procedure 2022 :

The candidates who have applied for this post and are Eligible will be undergoing a process of recruitment ,which takes place as three stages. The completion of each stage will take you into the next stage. The three steps pf selection procedure are :-

• Preliminary Examination

• Main Examination

• Interview & Records ( For Interview Posts)

Preliminary Examination :

Preliminary Examination will be conducted for all the candidates who have applied successfully in the link , and this is the first screening stage to shortlist the candidates into main examination. This is an objective type of examination conducted for 300 Marks. This will contain 200 questions in total and duration is 3 hours.

Main Written Examination :

This main Written Examination is for the candidates who have passed the preliminary examination and it is of descriptive type. There will be two papers each conducted for 3 hours. This time , TNPSC has introduced the mandatory tamil eligibility test for the candidates.

Interview & Records :

Interview will be conducted for candidates who have cleared the main examination and this will be for only interview posts. This will be for 40 Marks.

Preliminary Examination : 300 Marks

Main Written Examination : 300 Marks

Interview & Records : 40 Marks

Tnpsc group 2 / 2A posts exam Pattern 2022 :

As we have already discussed, there are three stages in this recruitment. The syllabus for the examination is clearly explained below for each stage.

I Preliminary Examination :

Preliminary examination is an objective type of examination. Candidates will be appearing for 200 questions in 3 hours. This has two predominant sections :-

• General Tamil/ General English

• General Studies

• Mental Ability

General Tamil/ English :

• This subject will be of SSLC Standard. The choice of general English or general tamil is upto the decision of the candidates. There will be 100 questions in this section and plays a vital role in the question paper. Candidates are advised to study this section very carefully and thoroughly.

General Studies :

This subject will be of degree standard. This will be comprising of the subjects as mentioned in the official notification. Here 75 questions will take place in the question paper.

Aptitude/ Mental Ability :

This section is of SSLC Standard . Here 25 questions will take place and also plays an important part in the question paper.

General Tamil / General English : 100 Questions

General Studies : 75 Questions

Aptitude/ Mental Ability : 25 Questions

Total : 200 Questions

II Main Examination :

Main examination is now having tamil mandatory test as recent feature. This main examination has two papers and they are :-

1.Tamil Mandatory Eligibility Test ( PAPER I) :

This Test is for 100 marks and it is of the standard of SSLC. The qualifying marks for this test is 40 Marks. The duration is 3 hours. This mark will not be considered for ranking in the main written examination, it is only for qualifying yourselves in tamil .

Note :

• Only if you qualify in this Paper I , your Paper II will be validated.

2. Main Descriptive Examination( PAPER II)  :

This main written examination is for 300 Marks and conducted for 3 hours. It is of descriptive type and candidates will have to write either in fully English or fully tamil.

III Interview & Records ( For interview Posts only):

• This interview will be held for the candidates who qualify the main examination. This is for a total of 40 Marks. Interview Posts stated in the official notification will have this stage of interview.

Tnpsc group 2 / 2A posts examination fees 2022 :

The Examination fees is applicable for this recruitment. This will be of two ways .i.e., Registration Fees and Examination Fees.

Registration Fees :

• The registration fees of Rs.150/- is required for One time Registration ( OTR). This one time registration is valid for 5 Years and it is not an application to any post.

Preliminary Examination:

• The Preliminary Examination Fees of Rs.100/- should be paid at the time of submitting the online application for this recruitment unless exemption of fee is claimed.

Main Written Examination:

• The Main Written Examination Fees of Rs.150/- should be paid only by those applicants admitted to the Main Written Examination based on the result of Preliminary Examination on receipt of intimation through SMS and E-mail from the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission unless exemption of fee is claimed.

Note:

• Fee Pay by online through Net Banking / Credit card / Debit card on or before the date of submission of online application by choosing the option in the online application.

Note:

(i) Linking Aadhaar number with One Time Registration (OTR) is mandatory for applicants. [For further details refer para 2B of ‘Instructions to Applicants’]

(ii) One Time Registration is valid for five years from the date of registration. After completion of five years, the applicant must renew the One Time Registration by paying the fee prescribed. An applicant should make an online application separately for each and every examination for which he intends to appear. [Refer para 2C of ‘Instructions to Applicants’]

(iii) Applicants who had already registered under One-Time Registration system by paying Rs.50/- before 01.03.2017 and having validity and those who have registered for One-Time Registration on or after 01.03.2017 by paying Rs.150/- towards One time Registration are exempted from paying the registration fee for this recruitment.
