Maharashtra Forest Department
Forest Development Board was established by the Government of Maharashtra in 1969 for converting large blocks of low value mixed forests into valuable stands. Considering its experience and the recommendations of the National Commission on Agriculture regarding raising of manmade forests, “Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited ” was incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 on 16th February 1974 as a wholly owned Government Company of State of Maharashtra.
Qualification
In case of Talathi Post, the candidates must possess any graduation from approved and recognised board of authority. For clerk post, one must passed HSC with typing skill and for typist, typing speed is mandatory and should finished 12th as minimum qualification with 40 wpm typing speed in English and 30 wpm in Marathi.
Age
As of like other recruitment, this also has minimum age limit of 18 years and maximum limit will be 30 yrs( appro). Thus check for official notification for clearance and relaxation will also be mentioned as per norms to reserved candidates.
Vacancies
The total vacancies are 1583. Out of this, Talathi occupies 1062 vacancies and Clerk and Typist will occupy 521 vacancies. The exam will be conducted in two different dates and sessions. The selection Process consists of written test, computer test and interview. The written exam will be objective type questions. Only the shortlisted candidates who will get the desired marks and secure their positions in the merit list The application fee can be paid either through offline or online mode. The application fee structure varies according to the post applicable.

The exam date for Clerk and typist will be on 4th September 2016 and Exam date for Talathi will be on 11th September 2016. Few duties of Talathi
- With the commencement of the new revenue year on 1st Aug August, the Talathi shall open all registers to be maintained, page them and get them sealed and signed by the Tahsildar before 1st August by sending all such registers to the Tahsildar at least a fortnight in advance.
- The Talathi shall immediately after 1stAugust submit to the Tahsil all the information required for the compilation of the annual administration report, together with a statement of new hissas to be measured for being forwarded to The District Inspector of Land Records for arranging the measurement.
- The Talathi shall, side by side or soon thereafter, watch the character of the season and be ready to report distress that may be coming, by submitting weekly rainfall and crop position reports to the Tahsildar with copy to the Circle Inspector.
- The Talathi shall commence at the same time the Kharif crop tenancy and boundary and survey marks inspection and shall complete it t 15th of October.
- The Talathi shall thereafter commence and complete by 31st December the Rabi crop and tenancy and boundary and survey marks inspection.
