• இந்திய ரிசர்வ் வங்கியானது சார்க் நாணய மாறுகொள் கட்டமைப்பின்கீழ் மாலத்தீவுகள் நாணய ஆணையத்துடன் (Maldives Monetary Authority) நாணய பரிமாற்ற ஒப்பந்தத்தில் கையெழுத்திட்டுள்ளது. இந்த ஒப்பந்தம் MMAஐ ரிசர்வ் வங்கியிடமிருந்து அதிகபட்சம் $200 மில்லியன் அமெரிக்க டாலர்கள் வரை பல தவணைகளில் பெற உதவும்.

• ஆசிய வளர்ச்சி வங்கியானது சென்னை மெட்ரோ இரயில் வலையமைப்பில் புதிய வழித்தடங்களை உருவாக்க மற்றும் பேருந்து மற்றும் பிற போக்குவரத்துச் சேவைகளுடன் மெட்ரோ இரயில் வலையமைப்பின் இணைப்பை மேம்படுத்துவதற்காக $780 மில்லியன் அமெரிக்க டாலர் நிதியுதவி வழங்க ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது.

• அழிந்துவரும் வனவுயிரிகளின் சர்வதேச வர்த்தகம் (CITES) தொடர்பான கூட்டமைப்பின் பிற்சேர்க்கை–IIஇலிருந்து லீத்தின் மெல்லோட்டு ஆமையை (Leith’s Softshell Turtle – Nilssonia leithi) பிற்சேர்க்கை–Iக்கு மாற்றிப்பட்டியலிட இந்தியா முன்மொழிந்துள்ளது. பனாமாவில் நடைபெற்ற CITESஇன் 19ஆவது கூட்டத்தில் இந்த முன்மொழிவு ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளப்பட்டது. லீத்தின் மெல்லோட்டு ஆமை என்பது மென்மையான ஓடுகொண்ட ஒரு பெரிய நன்னீர் ஆமை ஆகும்; இது தீபகற்ப இந்தியாவில் மட்டுமே காணப்படுகிறது.

• போர்ச்சுகல் கால்பந்து வீரர் கிறிஸ்டியானோ ரொனால்டோ 5 வெவ்வேறு உலகக்கோப்பை போட்டிகளில் கோல் அடித்த முதல் வீரர் ஆவார். 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022 ஆகிய ஆண்டுகளில் நடைபெற்ற உலகக்கோப்பை தொடர்களில் ரொனோல்டோ கோலடித்துள்ளார் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. கானாவுக்கு எதிரான குரூப்–H போட்டியில் 65ஆவது நிமிடத்தில் கோலடித்து ரொனோல்டோ இந்த மைல்கல் சாதனையை எட்டினார்.

• இந்திய விண்வெளி ஆய்வு மையம் (ISRO) தொடர்ந்து 200ஆவது முறையாக ‘RH–200’ ஆய்வு ஏவுகணையை ஏவியது. வானிலை, வானியல் மற்றும் விண்வெளி இயற்பியலின் ஒத்த பிரிவுகளில் சோதனைகளை மேற்கொள்வ –தற்கு இந்திய ஆய்வு ஏவுகணைகள் (sounding rockets) பயன்படுத்தப்படுகின்றன.

• The Reserve Bank of India has signed a Currency Swap Agreement with the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) under the SAARC Currency Swap Framework. This agreement will enable the MMA to make withdrawals in multiple tranches up to a maximum of USD 200 million from the RBI.

• The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) will launch India’s first–ever surety bonds insurance product to boost liquidity in the infrastructure sector, as per Union minister Nitin Gadkari. The surety bonds will help in boosting the liquidity in the infrastructure sector by providing relief to the contractors’ working capital stuck in bank guarantees.

• The Asian Development Bank (ADB) approved financing of USD 780 million to build new lines for Chennai’s metro rail and improve the network’s connectivity with bus and feeder services. The project will construct 10.1 km of an elevated section, nine metro stations, 10 km of the underground section among others. The stations will be disaster– and climate–resilient and responsive to the needs of the elderly, women, children, and the differently abled.

The proposal has been adopted by the Conference of Parties (CoP) to CITES in its 19th Meeting at Panama.  Leith’s Softshell Turtle is a large fresh water soft–shelled turtle which is endemic to peninsular India.
