• இந்தியக்குடியரசுத்தலைவர் திரௌபதி முர்மு பிரதமர் காசநோய் (TB) முக்த் பாரத் அபியான், ‘நி–க்ஷய் 2.0’ என்ற இணையதளத்தை தொடங்கவுள்ளார். நடுவண் சுகாதாரம் மற்றும் குடும்பநல அமைச்சகம் 2025ஆம் ஆண்டுக்குள் காசநோயை ஒழிக்க இலக்கு நிர்ணயித்துள்ளது. ‘நி–க்ஷய் 2.0’ என்பது காசநோயால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு சமூக அளவிலான ஆதரவை வழங்கும் ஒரு டிஜிட்டல் தளமாகும். இது காசநோயாளிகளின் சிகிச்சை விளைவுகளை மேம்படுத்துவதற்கான கூடுதல் ஆதரவை வழங்குகிறது.

• தமிழ்நாடு அரசானது மூவலூர் இராமாமிர்தம் அம்மையார் உயர்கல்வி உறுதித் திட்டத்தை, ‘புதுமைப்பெண் திட்டம்’ என மாற்றியமைத்துள்ளது. இளங்கலைப்பட்டம், பட்டயப்படிப்பு, ஐடிஐ அல்லது வேறு ஏதேனும் அங்கீகரிக்கப்பட்ட படிப்பைத்தொடருவதற்காக, மாணவிகளுக்கு மாதந்தோறும் `1,000 உதவித்தொகையை இத்திட்டம் வழங்குகிறது. அரசுப்பள்ளிகளில் ஆறாம் வகுப்பு முதல் பன்னிரண்டாம் வகுப்பு வரை படித்த மாணவிகள் இந்த நிதியுதவி பெறத் தகுதியுடையவர்கள் ஆவர்.

• பிரதமரின் கதிசக்தி கட்டமைப்பு அமலாக்கத்திற்காக இரயில்வேக்கு சொந்தமான நிலத்தை நீண்டகால குத்தகைக்கு அளிப்பதற்கான கொள்கைக்கு பிரதமர் தலைமையிலான நடுவண் அமைச்சரவை ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளது.
• இதன்மூலம், இரயில்வேயின் சரக்குப் போக்குவரத்து அதிகரித்து அதன்மூலம் தொழிற்துறையின் சரக்குப் போக்குவரத்திற்கான செலவும் குறையும்; இரயில்வேக்கு அதிக வருவாய் கிடைக்கும். இக்கொள்கையின்மூலம் 1.2 இலட்சம் பேருக்கு வேலைவாய்ப்பு கிடைக்கும். பிரதமரின் கதிசக்தி திட்டத்தின்கீழ் அடுத்த 5 ஆண்டுகளில் 300 சரக்குப் போக்குவரத்து முனையங்கள் அமைக்கப்படும். நிலத்தின் சந்தை மதிப்பில், ஆண்டுக்கு 1.5 சதவீத வட்டியில், 35 ஆண்டுகள் வரை சரக்குப் போக்குவரத்து நடவடிக்கைகளுக்காக ரயில்வே நிலங்கள் நீண்டகால குத்தகைக்கு அளிக்கப்படவுள்ளன.

• Indian President Droupadi Murmu is set to launch the Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan ‘Ni–kshay 2.0’ portal. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has set a target for eradication of tuberculosis by 2025. Nikshay 2.0 is a digital platform for community support for the persons with TB. It provides additional patient support to improve treatment outcome of tuberculosis patients.

Those who attended government schools from Class 6 to 12 will be eligible for the financial aid.

• The Union Cabinet approved a policy for long–term leasing of railway land for the PM Gati Shakti programme. The new policy will facilitate to provide land lease for a longer period of up to 35 years as against five years at present. The new policy will enable the development of infrastructure and more cargo terminals. It has also cut down land lease fee from 6 percent to 1.5 percent.

• The government has recently awarded geographical indication (GI) tag to ‘Mithila Makhana’, to help farmers get the maximum price for their produce. Its botanical name is ‘Euryale Ferox Salisb’ and it is a special variety of aquatic fox nut. Mithila Makhana is cultivated in the Mithila region of Bihar and some parts of Nepal. It is the fifth product from Bihar after Bhagalpur’s Jardalu Mango, Katarni Dhaan (rice), Nawada’s Maghai Paan and Muzaffarpur’s Shahi Litchi.

• UN Secretary–General Antonio Guterres has appointed senior Indian bureaucrat Alkesh Kumar Sharma to the inaugural Internet Governance Forum (IGF) Leadership Panel. He is among 10 distinguished digital governance experts selected from across the globe. He is a 1990 batch IAS officer from Rajasthan and a former Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat. He has earlier served the UNDP as the national project director for Urban Development and Poverty Alleviation.

• As per a recent study by the think tank Pew Research Center, India’s sex ratio at birth, the number of girl children born for every 100 boys, has normalised slightly. The data from the National Family Health Survey 2019–’21 shows that the sex ratio at birth narrowed from 109 boys per 100 girls in 2015–’16 to 108 boys per 100 girls in 2019–’21. The average annual number of baby girls ‘missing’ in India also fell from about 4.8 lakh in 2010 to 4.1 lakh in 2019.
