About BEET 2016
Patna University, the first university in Bihar, was established in 1917 during the British Raj, and is the seventh oldest university of the Indian subcontinent. At that time, the jurisdiction of the university extended to Bihar, Odisha, and the Kingdom of Nepal. The university oversaw examinations for educational institutions ranging from school finals to the postgraduate levels. The university has colleges and institutions that cover areas of study including law, teacher training, science, arts, commerce, medicine and engineering. Since 1974, the university has a Directorate of Distance Education.
Patna University BEET Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Science/Social Science/ Humanity/Commerce with at least 50% marks.
Candidates must have Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks.
A relaxation of 5% marks will be given to the reserved category students as per the rules of the Govt. of Bihar.
It is essential that the applicant should have studied at least two of the following school subjects at graduation level/post graduation level:
(i)English (ii) Hindi (iii) Sanskrit (iv) Urdu (v) Persian (vi) Arabic (vii) History (viii) Civics/Political Science (ix) Geography (x) Economics (xi) Home Science (xii) Physical Science (xiii) Biological Science (xiv) Mathematics (xv) Commerce (xvi) Computer Science.
The applicant is not allowed to take admission in any other course simultaneously with the B.Ed. Course. The eligible and interested candidates can apply online and submit test fees for Rs 1500 for general /OBC ,1300 Rs for SC/ST through online or through bank. BEET 2016 Allotted seat as per category
Patna university conducting this entrance exam for selecting eligible 210 candidates for B.ed two years training course of academic year 2016-17.Patna training college for men with 90 seats and Women’s training college for women with 120 seats. In this 80 percent of the seats are reserved for the graduates of Patna university and 20 percent for UG/PG graduates of other universities.SC/ST/BC-I/BC-II/BCW/PH candidates will get reservation as per the prevalent norms of the Govt. of Bihar.
BEET Examination Pattern 2016
There are two parts in the BEET exam. Both part A and B are compulsory and of objective type .Total marks of A and B are consider for the merit list of the candidates.Part A consist of General English comprehension (10 marks), Logical and Analytical reasoning (20 marks), Educational and general awareness (25 marks), Environment of teaching /learning in school(25 marks).Part B section includes Subject awareness for 20 marks. Out of 4 subjects (Science and Mathematics, Social Science, Humanities, Commerce) one subject should choose by the candidate while applying BEET 2016.
