Vacancy Details : Indian Air Force invites ONLINE application from unmarried Indian male candidates for Recruitment Trials of Outstanding Sportsmen from 11 – 13 March 2024 to join the IAF as an Agniveervayu (Sports) in the following sports disciplines:-

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Educational Qualification: (a) Science Subjects Candidates should have passed Intermediate/10+2/ Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English from an Education Board recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

OR

Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course)

OR

Passed Two years Vocational course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Mathematics from an Education Board recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in vocational course).

(b) Other than Science Subjects Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

OR

Passed two years vocational course from Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course).

Note : Candidates eligible for Science Subjects examination (Including Intermediate/ 10+2/three years diploma course in engineering or two years vocational course with non-vocational subjects of Physics and Maths) are also eligible for Other than Science Subjects. Education Boards recognised by Central, State and UT as on date of registration shall only be considered. Exact aggregate Percentage of marks before decimal as written in the marks sheet of 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent Examination/Three years Diploma Course/Two years Vocational Course OR calculated as per the rules of concerned Education Board / Polytechnic Institute shall only be considered (For example 49.99% should be taken as 49% and not to be rounded off to 50%).

Sports Achievements: (a) Individual should have represented the country in Junior/Senior International competitions recognized by International Olympics committee (IOA) in any of the sports disciplines mentioned at Para 1.

(b) Individual should have attained the minimum standard of fifth place in the Junior National competitions, represented the State/Union Territory in Senior National competitions or All India Inter University competitions or SAI (Khelo India National) in any of the sports disciplines mentioned at Para 1.

(c) In team events, the individual should have represented state in Junior/ Senior National competitions conducted by respective Sports Federations or All India Inter University Championship or SAI (Khelo India National) in any of the sports disciplines mentioned at Para 1.

(d) For Cricket Discipline Only. – Candidates who have played All India Inter-University or BCCI Trophies – U-19, U-23, Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Deodhar Trophy or higher participation are only eligible to apply.

Note: Sports certificates issued by federations/Association approved by Indian Olympic Association (IOA)/ Khelo India National (SAI)/ Association of Indian University OR certificate issued by University for participation in All India Inter University competitions shall only be considered. The current achievement would be given preference during selection trials. IOA recognized federations can be ascertained from official website of IOA (https://olympic.ind.in).

Age Limit :  Date of Birth Block. Candidate born between 27 June 2003 to 27 December 2006 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply. In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the Selection trial, then the upper age limit as on date of enrollment should be 21 years.

Marital Status : Only unmarried male candidates will be eligible for enrollment as Agniveervayu (Sports) and they shall undertake not to marry during the defined engagement period of four years.

Salary: Selected candidates will be offered a competitive salary package as per the rules and regulations of the Indian Air Force. The salary details will be provided in the official notification.

Agniveervayu (Sports) will be given one time ‘Seva Nidhi’ package comprising their monthly contribution along with matching contribution by the Government on completion of their engagement period, as indicated below: –

Selection Process: The selection process for Agniveer (Sports) Intake 01/2024 will involve multiple stages, including:
