Eligibility Criteria :

General Duty (GD) –  Should hold a degree of recognised university with minimum 60% aggregate marks. Mathematics and Physics as subject upto Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

Commercial Pilot Licence – Short Service Appointment (CPL-SSA)* – Should have passed 12th class or equivalent with physics and mathematics as subjects with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed diploma are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum. Should possess current Commercial Pilot Licence issued/ validated by Director General Civil Aviation on the date of submission of application.

Technical (Mechanical) – Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE). Mathematics and Physics as subject up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

Technical (Electrical/ Electronics) – Should hold an Engineering degree of recognised university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE). Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.

Law Entry – A degree in Law from a recognized university with minimum 60% aggregate marks

Age Limit:

  • General Duty (GD) – 21-25 years as on 01 Jul 2023 i.e. born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/Air Force)
  • Commercial Pilot Licence – Short Service Appointment (CPL-SSA)* – 19-25 years as on 01 Jul 2023 i.e. born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2004 (Both dates inclusive).
  • Technical (Mechanical) – 21-25 years as on 01 Jul 2023 i.e. born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)
  • Technical (Electrical/ Electronics) – 21-25 years as on 01 Jul 2023 i.e. born between 01 Jul 1998 & 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)
  • Law Entry – 21-30 years as on 01 Jul 2023 i.e. born between 01 Jul 1993 & 30 Jun 2002 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/ Air Force).

Salary: Selected candidates will receive a handsome salary package along with other benefits as per the rules and regulations of the Indian Coast Guard.

Selection Process: The selection process consists of the following stages:

1. Stage-I (CGCAT)
2. Stage-II {Preliminary Selection Board (PSB)}
3. Stage-III: Final Selection Board (FSB)
4. Stage-IV (Medical Examination)
5. Stage-V (Induction)
Based on the performance in the Stage-I, candidates will be shortlisted for appearing in Stage-II (PSB) which will be conducted for a day at Noida, Mumbai/Goa, Chennai and Kolkata centres.

The shortlisted candidates will be informed via email or SMS about the Preliminary Selection process, which includes Mental Ability Test/ Cognitive Aptitude Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT). Candidates who qualify the Preliminary Selection will be called for the Final Selection, which includes Psychological Test, Group Task, and Interview.

Application Fee for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Posts : All candidates (except SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty Only) through online mode by using net banking or by using Visa/ Master/ Maestro/ RuPay/ Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI. Admit card will be issued for the examination only to those candidates who have successfully paid the examination fee or who are entitled for waiver of examination fee.
