About JKPSC
JKPSC is the state owned government organisation and it conducts recruitment examinations for various posts. The JKPSC established on 26th January 1957 under section 128 of the Constitution of J&K. The primary function of this Commission is to conduct examinations for the recruitment of posts and for promotions and also to transfers from one service to another service. KAS is the Combined Competitive examination which select the aspirants for the various grade officers post. Every year a gradual amount of candidates recruit through this examinations conducted by JKPSC.
KAS Recruitment 2016
As the application date is already completed, It’s time to get prepare to be one of 227 selected candidates. So prepare well. Pre Plan the topics and the timing to prepare for each topic based on syllabus of the examination. This recruitment process is held on three stages. Candidates have to write two written examinations. First Candidates have to clear the Prelims examination. Only selected candidates from prelims will attend the Main examination and then Personal Interview after clearing Main examination.
Preliminary Examination Syllabus
The JKPSC Combined Competitive Preliminary Exam consists of two papers of total 450 Marks, and the questions will give on General Studies (150 marks)and Optional Subjects(300 marks). The course content of the Optional subjects will be in degree level and the language of question will be in English with multi choice objective type.
Optional subject should select one of the following. They are Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Commerce, Economics, Electrical Engineering, Geography, Geology, Indian History, Law, Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, Philosophy, Physics, Political Science, Psychology, Public Administration, Sociology, Statistics, Zoology.

Main Examination Syllabus
The Mains Examination consists of eight papers which contains the questions on Paper I of General English(300 marks), Paper II of Essay in English(150 marks), Paper III and IV of General Studies (300 marks)and Paper V,VI,VII,VIII of Optional Subjects any two from the subjects above. The content of the questions will be depth than of prelims. Examination topics depth will be more than of Bachelor degree level .So instead of having memorizing and gathering information deep knowledge is needed. It is insisted to access the overall intellectual traits and depth of understanding of the candidates.
Personal Interview
Interview is the final stage of recruitment process. Every candidates cleared the Main examination will summon to attend the interview section of total 250 Marks. Usually, the number of candidates to be summoned for interview will not be more than thrice the number of vacancies to be filled. Interview section mostly concentrate on judging the mental calibre of the candidate which give priority on current affairs and social traits. Some other quality are analysed in this interview are mental alertness, critical powers of assimilation, clear and logical expositions, balance of judgement, variety and depth of interest, ability for social cohesion and leadership, intellectual and moral integrity.

After getting clear view of the syllabus, each of the candidates who are preparing honestly will check for the previous papers to get a clear view of the depth and pattern of the questions asked. Candidates are advised by the professional, that not only checking the previous papers and also try to solve the previous papers within the time limit will spot out your mistakes as we check it with the answer key and also tell us which topic consume more time.
