Educational Qualification For TN MRB Recruitment 2022
Candidates should possess the following or its equivalent qualification awarded by a University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission for the purpose of its grants. The courses must have been approved by the Medical Council of India.
For Assistant Surgeon (General) : MBBS Degree
In addition to the above, the candidates Must be a registered practitioner within the meaning of the Madras Medical Registration Act, 1914. Must have served as House Surgeon (CRRI) for a period of not less than twelve months. Candidates should have registered their name in the Tamil Nadu Medical Council on or before the last date of this Notification. (Last date for submission of application i.e. 25.10.2022). If a candidate claims that the educational qualification possessed by him/her is equivalent though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment, the onus of proof rests with the candidate.

Citizenship For TN MRB Recruitment 2022
He/She is
(i) A citizen of India; or
(ii) A subject of Nepal or Bhutan; or
(iii) A person of Indian Origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tankanika and Zanzibar) Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and
Ethiopia with the intention of permanently settling in India.
(iv) An applicant belonging to categories (iii) or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan should also obtain a certificate of eligibility given by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
(v) An applicant in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary will be admitted to an examination or interview and he will provisionally be appointed subject to the necessary certificate being given to him by the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Application Fee/ Examination Fee For MRB Tamil Nadu Recruitment 2022
- For SC/SCA/ST/DAP(PH) candidates : Rs. 500/-
- For Others : Rs. 1000/-
Online application once registered/completed will not be allowed to be withdrawn and/or the fee paid towards the registration/application will not be refunded / adjusted for any reason. Candidates who have paid the examination fee for the notification issued Notification No. 02/MRB/2020, Dated: 22-05-2020 for the post of Assistant Surgeon (General) need not pay the examination fee once again and requested to furnish the already payment paid details in the Fee details column besides furnishing the earlier application number.
Selection process For Assistant Surgeon Recruitment – MRB Tamil Nadu

Written Examination
Document Verification
- Selection will be made based on the marks obtained in the written examination, and duly following the rules of reservation and communal rotation of Government of Tamil Nadu.
- Candidates should undergo the Tamil Eligibility Test (SSLC Standard) in any of the session decided by the Board on the day of the competitive examination for the post of Assistant Surgeon (General).
- Marks secured in the Tamil Eligibility Test (SSLC Standard) will not be taken into account for ranking.
- Candidates those who have qualified in Tamil Eligibility Test (SSLC Standard) by obtaining minimum qualifying marks of 40% alone are eligible for corrections of the subject paper prescribed/ Written for this post.
- The Hall Tickets for eligible candidates will be made available in the Board Website.
- No Hall Tickets will be sent by post.
- Intimation regarding the availability of hall ticket for download will be sent to the registered email ID / SMS to the registered mobile number.

The question paper in the subject “Medical Sciences” will be set in English only and will contain 100 objective type questions. There will be no negative mark for the wrong answer. The Questions will be in the standard of Under Graduate Level. Check the notification for the syllabus details.

- Interested candidates may log on to the Medical Services Recruitment Board website www.mrb.tn.gov.in
- Click “Online Registration” to open up the On-Line Application Form on the home page.
- Select the name of the post of Assistant Surgeon (General) and enter all the required details.
- Register with a valid Mobile number and e-mail ID. All communication from MRB will be sent to the registered mobile number by SMS and registered e-mail ID ONLY. No Communication will be sent by Post.
- Candidates are required to upload their scanned copy of colour photograph and scanned copy of signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines.
- Candidate shall not send copies of certificates / printed application to MRB.
