Educational Qualification:
1. Level-2 Or Level- 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission – Passed 12th (+2 stage) or equivalent examination. Education Qualification must be from a Govt. Recognized Board/Council/ Institution.
2. Level – 1 of Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission – 10th Pass or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Note : Educational qualification must be from a Govt. Recognized Board/ Council/Institutions etc. (Minimum educational qualification should be as applicable to the post offered for NTPC posts). For appointment against Sports quota in Technician-III, the minimum educational qualification is 10th pass. However, the training period for such Sports Quota appointees will be 03 (Three) years, unless they pass/ Possess ITI qualification in the relevant Trade, in which case it will be 6 months.
Period for Reckoning Sports Achievement: For recruitment against Sports Quota through Open Advertisement, the recognized sports achievement should be in the current and or immediate previous two financial year and the sports person shall be an active player. The sports achievement in recognized championships / events on or after 01.04.2021 shall only be considered for appointment. For validity of sports achievement, concluding day of the championships events shall be taken into account.
Sports Norms: The minimum sports norms for recruitment of sports persons against sports quota in different Grade Pay and Pay Bands for both team and individual events shall be as per the table shown below:
Categories of International Championships:
Category-A: Olympic Games (Senior Category)
Category-B: World Cup (Junior/Youth/Senior Category), World Championships (Junior/Senior Category), Asian Games (Senior Category), Commonwealth Games (Senior Category), Youth Olympics, Davis Cup (Tennis), Champions Trophy (Hockey), Thomas / Uber Cup (Badminton).
Category-C: Commonwealth Championships (Junior/Senior Category), Asian Championships/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior Category), South Asian Federations (SAF) Games (Senior Category), USIC (World Rlys) Championship (Senior Category), World University Games.
Note: In boxing discipline, the achievements of players in “Youth” category on or after 25.09.2016 in International Championships will be considered in place of “Junior” category.
Age Limit (As on 01.01.2024) : Minimum age 18 years and maximum age 25 years as on 01-January-2024. No relaxation in upper or lower age limit will be permissible in this recruitment. Proof of Age viz., Matriculation certificate issued by a recognised board or equivalent must be produced / attached.
Salary Structure : Successful candidates selected as Sports Persons in NFR will be entitled to an attractive salary structure as per the pay level assigned to the specific posts. The details of the salary structure can be obtained from the official notification provided on the NFR website.

Trial of sports performance.

Application Fee for NFR Sports Person Posts : For all candidates except those mentioned in sub-para (ii) below: Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) only with a provision for refunding Rs. 400/- to candidates actually appearing in the trial). The IPO should be drawn in favour of PFA /NF Railway, and payable at Maligaon Post Office, Guwahati – 781011 only. Candidates must write their names & full address in the IPO. For candidates belonging to SC/ST/Ex. Servicemen, Women, Minorities and Economically Backward Classes: Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty) only with a provision for refunding the same to those who actually appear in the trial. Applicants shall pay the Application Fee through Online Payment Mode Only.
