1. Stipendiary Trainee / Technician – B (ST/TM – B) (Cat – II) – Plant Operator
HSC (10+2) or ISC in Science Stream (with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics subjects) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
Should have had English as one of the Subjects atleast at SSC level Examination.
Combination of other subjects/disciplines alongwith the core disciplines/subject indicated above will also be considered.
2. Stipendiary Trainee / Technician – B (ST/TM – B) (Cat – II) – Fitter –
SSC with minimum 50% marks in Science subject(s) and Mathematics individually and 2 years ITI certificate course in Fitter trade.
Should have had English as one of the subjects atleast at SSC level Examination.
Combination of other subjects/disciplines alongwith the core disciplines/subject indicated above will also be considered.
3. Stipendiary Trainee / Technician – B (ST/TM – B) (Cat – II) – Instrumentation/ Electronic Mech –
SSC with minimum 50% marks in Science subject(s) and Mathematics individually and 2 years ITI certificate course in Industrial Electronics / Electronics/ Instrumentation/ Information Technology & Electronics system maintenance / Power electronics systems / Instrument mechanic in power plant
Should have had English as one of the subjects atleast at SSC level Examination.
Combination of other subjects/disciplines alongwith the core disciplines/subject indicated above will also be considered.
4. Stipendiary Trainee / Technician – B (ST/TM – B) (Cat – II) – Electrician –
SSC with minimum 50% marks in Science subject(s) and Mathematics individually and 2 years ITI certificate course in Electrician trade or ITI in Electrician-Power distribution.
Should have had English as one of the subjects atleast at SSC level Examination.
Combination of other subjects/disciplines along with the core disciplines/subject indicated above will also be considered.
5. Stipendiary Trainee / Technician – B (ST/TM – B) (Cat – II) – Plumber- SSC with minimum 50% marks in Science subject(s) and Mathematics individually and 2 years ITI certificate course in Plumber. Should have had English as one of the subjects atleast at SSC level Examination. Combination of other subjects/disciplines along with the core disciplines/subject indicated above will also be considered.
6. Stipendiary Trainee / Technician – B (ST/TM – B) (Cat – II) – Welder –
SSC with minimum 50% marks in Science subject(s) and Mathematics individually and 2 years ITI certificate course in Welder.
Should have had English as one of the subjects atleast at SSC level Examination.
Combination of other subjects/disciplines alongwith the core disciplines/subject indicated above will also be considered.
7. Stipendiary Trainee / Technician – B (ST/TM – B) (Cat – II) – Carpenter –
SSC with minimum 50% marks in Science subject(s) and Mathematics individually and 2 years ITI certificate course in Carpenter.
Should have had English as one of the subjects atleast at SSC level Examination.
Combination of other subjects/disciplines alongwith the core disciplines/subject indicated above will also be considered.
For Stipendiary Trainee / Technician – B (ST/TM – B) (Cat – II)
Note:
For Trades for which the duration of the ITI course is less than 2 years, the candidates shall have at least one year relevant working experience after completion of the Course.
– One year apprenticeship training after completion of 1-yr ITI Course shall be considered as One year experience.
8. Stipendiary Trainees / Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) (Cat – I) – Physics/Chemistry –
B.Sc. with a minimum of 60% marks. B.Sc. shall be with Physics as principal and Chemistry/ Mathematics / Statistics/ Electronics & Computer Science as subsidiary.
OR
Chemistry as principal and Physics / Mathematics / Statistics/ Electronics & Computer Science as subsidiary.
OR
with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects with equal weightage.
Should have had English as one of the subjects either at SSC/SSLC or HSC level examinations.
Combination of other subjects/disciplines alongwith the core disciplines/subject indicated above will also be considered. Candidates having Mathematics as the principal subject at B.Sc. are not eligible.
9. Stipendiary Trainees / Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) (Cat – I) – Mechanical –
Diploma with not less than 60% marks in
– Mechanical Engineering.
– Mechanical Engineering (Repair and Maintenance).
– Mechanical Engineering (Maintenance).
– Mechanical Engineering Power plant engineering.
– Mechanical welding and sheet metal engineering.
Recognized by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development. The Diploma in Engineering should be of three years duration after SSC/HSC approved by AICTE OR
Two years Diploma through lateral entry to 2nd year after HSC approved by AICTE with not less than 60% marks in Mechanical, Candidates with Diploma through lateral entry to 2nd year Diploma after 10th (SSC) + ITI shall not be eligible.
Should have had English as one of the subjects either at SSC or HSC level examination.

12. Scientific Assistant – C – Safety Supervisor –
Three years Diploma in Engineering in the discipline of Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical and Production after SSC/HSC approved by AICTE with minimum 50% marks. OR
Two years Diploma in Engineering in the discipline of Mechanical , Electrical, Civil, Chemical and Production through Lateral entry to 2nd year after HSC approved by AICTE with minimum 50% marks.
Candidates with Diploma through Lateral entry to 2nd year Diploma after 10th (SSC) + ITI shall not be eligible.
Candidate should have 4 years of work experience after obtaining requisite qualification. Only full time employment experience is acceptable.
For Assistant Grade – 1 – HR/ F&A/ C&MM –
– Any Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized University / Institution.
Essential requirements for Skill Test.
(a) Typewriting Test
(b) A Speed of 30 words per Minute in English typing on PC.
(c) Computer Proficiency Test
(d) Candidates should have passed a Certificate Course of duration of not less than 6 months on MS-Windows Operating System and Desktop Applications such as MS Office (Word, Excel, Access and Power Point), e-mail Management and Internet Surfing.
However , certificate course will not apply to the candidates who have studied computer science / computer application as one of the subjects in their school or college curriculum.

Age Limit: (As on 05.01.2024)

  • For Stipendiary Trainees/Technician (ST/TM) (Category II) – Plant Operator / Maintainer – 18 to 24 Years
  • For Stipendiary Trainees/Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) (Category I) – Diploma Holders in Engineering / Science Graduates – 18 to 25 Years
  • For Scientific Assistant / C – (Safety Supervisor) – 18 to 35 Years
  • For Assistant Grade-1 (HR/F&A/C&MM) – 21 to 28 Years

The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules. Candidates Relaxation in Upper Age limit will be provided as per Govt. Rules.

Salary: The selected candidates will be entitled to a competitive salary package as per the rules and regulations of NPCIL. The salary details will be specified in the official notification.

Stipendiary Trainees/Technician (ST/TM) (Cat-II) – Plant Operator / Maintainer – During 1st year of training, Stipend of Rs. 20,000/- per month.
– During 2nd year of training, Stipend of Rs. 22,000/- per month.
– Book Allowance of Rs. 3000/- as one time grant.
– After successful completion of training, the trainees are likely to be considered for appointment to the post of Technician / B in the initial pay of 21,700/- in level – 3 of Revised Pay Structure (Pay Matrix) under CCS (RP) Rules, 2016 and other allowances as admissible from time to time. Additional increment(s), as per extant rules, depending upon performance during training program may also be granted to deserving candidates
Stipendiary Trainees/Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) (Cat- I) – Science Graduates / Diploma Holders in Engineering – During 1st year of training, Stipend of Rs. 24,000/- per month.
– During next six months of training, Stipend of Rs. 26,000/- per month.
– Book Allowance of Rs. 3000/- as one time grant.
– After successful completion of training, the trainees are likely to be considered for appointment to the post of Scientific Assistant / B in the initial pay of 35,400/- in level – 6 of Revised Pay Structure (Pay Matrix) under CCS (RP) Rules, 2016 and Allowances as admissible from time to time. Additional increment(s), as per extant rules, depending upon performance during training program may also be granted to deserving candidates.

Period of Training: The period of training for the post of Category-I Stipendiary Trainees /Scientific Assistant (ST/SA) – Diploma Holders in Engineering / Science Graduates will be 1 ½ years (18 months). The period of training for the post of Category-II Stipendiary Trainees/ Technician (ST/TN) – Plant Operator / Maintainer will be 2 years

Written Examination
