Eligibility Criteria : Before applying for the SBI PO position, candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria specified by the bank. The basic eligibility criteria for SBI PO 2023 recruitment are as follows:

Educational Qualification(As on 31.12.2023) : Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government. Those who are in the Final Year/ Semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if called for interview, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before 31.12.2023. Candidates having Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31.12.2023. Candidates possessing qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant etc. would also be eligible.

Age Limit(As on 01.04.2023) : The age limit for candidates applying for SBI PO 2023 is generally between 21 to 30 years. Candidates must have been born not later than 01.04.2002 and not earlier than 02.04.1993 (both days inclusive). The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules. Candidates Relaxation in Upper Age limit will be provided as per Govt. Rules.

Nationality: Candidates must be Indian citizens, or subjects of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Experience: While no prior banking experience is required, candidates with relevant work experience may be given preference during the selection process.

Salary and Benefits : Working as an SBI Probationary Officer (PO) comes with an attractive salary package and a host of benefits. The official will be eligible for DA, HRA, CCA, PF, Contributed Pension Fund i.e., NPS, LFC, Medical Facility, Lease rental facility etc. and other allowances & perquisites as per rules in force from time to time.

Selection Process : The selection process for SBI PO 2023 comprises several stages:

Phase-I: Preliminary Examination

Phase-II: Main Examination

Phase-III Comprise of (i) Psychometric Test (ii) Group Exercise & (iii) Interview

Preliminary Examination: This is the initial stage of the selection process and consists of multiple-choice questions on English language, quantitative aptitude, and reasoning ability.

Main Examination: The main examination consists of objective and descriptive tests, including sections like reasoning and computer aptitude, data analysis and interpretation, general/economy/banking awareness, and English language.

Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI): Candidates who clear the main examination are called for a GD and PI round. The final selection is made based on the candidate’s performance in these rounds and their main examination scores.
