For Fresher’s Category Minimum Academic/ Technical Qualification:

Fitter Should have passed 10 Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education Two Years
Welder (Gas & Electric) Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education One Year and Three Months
Medical Laboratory Technicians Passed 12th class examination under 10+2 system of education with physics, chemistry and biology (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) One Year and Three Months
  • Minimum 50% marks in SSLC not applicable for SC/ST/PwBD Candidates.
  • Candidates with higher qualification viz. Diploma/Degree, Engineering, Polytechnic & already a Course Completed Act Apprentices in Railway Establishments are NOT eligible to apply.
  • The candidates should have already passed the prescribed qualification on the date of issue of Notification. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination and candidates whose result of qualifying examination awaited are not eligible.

For EX-ITI Category Minimum Academic/ Technical Qualification:

Welder (Gas & Electric), Carpenter, umber, Mechanic-Machine Tool Maintenance, Mechanic-Refrigeration and Air  Conditioning, Mechanic-Diesel, Electronics Mechanic, Painter (General II) Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education and passed ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI & should possess Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training / State Council for Vocational Training in their relevant Trade One Year
Wireman Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education and passed ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI & should possess Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training / State Council for Vocational Training in the Trades of Wiremen and Electrician One Year
Programming and Systems Administration Assistant (PASAA) Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education and should possess National Trade Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training in “Computer Operator and Programming One Year
Information & Communication Technology System Maintenance ((ICTSM) Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education and passed ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI & should possess Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training / State Council for Vocational Training in the Trades of:
1. Information and Communication Technology System Maintenance
2. Information Technology and Electronic System Maintenance
3. Broad Based Basic Training in Information Technology Sector under Centre of Excellence Scheme and Advanced module of Centre of Excellence Scheme in Repair and Maintenance of Hardware of Computer and Peripherals.

Computer Operator and Programming Assistant COPA) Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education and passed ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI & should possess Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training / State Council for Vocational Training in their relevant Trade One Year
Advanced Welder Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education and passed ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI 85 should possess Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training / State Council for Vocational Training in the Trades of:
1. Broad Based Basic Training in Production and Manufacturing Sector under Centre of Excellence Scheme and Advanced module of Centre of Excellence Scheme in Advance Welding.
2. Welder

SSA (Stenographer & Secretarial Assistant) Should have passed 10th Class (with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks) under 10 +2 System of education and passed ITI course in the relevant trade in Government recognized ITI & should possess Certificate issued by National Council for Vocational Training / State Council for Vocational Training in the Trades of:
1. Stenography (English)
2. Secretarial Practice

  • Minimum 50% marks in SSLC not applicable for SC/ST/PwBD Candidates.
  • Candidates with higher qualification viz. Diploma/Degree, Engineering, Polytechnic & already a Course Completed Act Apprentices in Railway Establishments are NOT eligible to apply.
  • The candidates should have already passed the prescribed qualification on the date of issue of Notification. Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination and candidates whose result of qualifying examination awaited are not eligible.

Age Limit: The candidates should have completed 15 years of age and should not have completed 22/24 years for Freshers/Ex-ITI, MLT Respectively. The upper age is relaxable by 3 Years for OBC candidates, 5 Years for SC/ST candidates and 10 Years for Persons with disability (PwBD).

Salary and Benefits: Selected candidates will be entitled to a competitive salary as per the norms of Southern Railway. Stipend will be paid as per the directions of Railway Board’s circular RBE 202/2019 dated 26.11.2019 under the directives of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Notification dated 25m September 2019.
