Eligibility Criteria For MTS Posts -SSC Recruitment 2023

Staff Selection Commission has released 529 Havaldar and 10880 Multi Tasking Staff vacancies in CBIC and CBN. The eligibility criteria for SSC MTS 2023 include Nationality, Education Qualification, and Age Limit. The candidates can check the detailed educational qualification, along with the age relaxation for various categories from this section of the article. Educational Qualification For SSC MTS 2023 (As on 17-02-2023)

The candidates must have passed matriculation (10th Pass) or equivalent examination from a recognized board. In case a candidate does not pass the qualifying examination before the closing date of receipt of the application form, he or she is not permitted to apply.

Nationality

A candidate is required to be,

  • A citizen of India
  • Subject of Nepal
  • Subject of Bhutan
  • Tibetan Refugee
  • Person of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Afghanistan, Kenya, Tanzania, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam.

Age Limit For SSC MTS 2023 (As on 01-01-2023)

  • For MTS and Havaldar in CBN (Department of Revenue) : 18-25 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02.01.1998 and not later than 01-01-2005)
  • For Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and few posts of MTS : 18-27 years (i.e. candidates born not before 02.01.1996 and not later than 01-01-2005)
  • The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD & 13 years for OBC PWD) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules. Candidates Relaxation in Upper Age limit will be provided as per Government Rules.

Application Fee For SSC MTS 2023

  • Fee payable: Rs. 100/- (Rupees one hundred only).
  • Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-servicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.
  • Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards or through cash in SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.
  • Online fee can be paid by the candidates up to 19-02-2023 (23.00 hours).
  • However, candidates who wish to make cash payment through Challan of SBI, may make the payment in cash at the Branches of SBI within the working hours of bank up to 20-02-2023 provided the Challan has been generated by them before 19-02-2023 (23.00 hours)

Selection Process For MTS Posts Recruitment SSC 2023

SSC may follow the following process to select the candidates.

Computer Based Examination

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) (only for the post of Havaldar)

Document Verification (DV)

Exam Centers in Tamil Nadu: Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem, Tiruchirapalli, Tirunelveli& Vellore

Computer Based Examination is an online exam that is an objective multiple choice question type. Descriptive Test is a pen and paper mode of examination that includes writing a short essay or letter in English or any language is included in the VIII Schedule of the Constitution. Descriptive paper will only be of qualifying nature and is intended to test elementary language skills. Descriptive Paper will be held only for those candidates who meet the cut-off prescribed by the Commission in Computer Based Examination for different categories.

Exam Pattern For SSC MTS & Havaldar

The paper pattern for SSC MTS saw a change in the previous year’s session of the exam. The exam consists of two papers i.e. Paper I & Paper 2. Paper 1 is conducted online while Paper 2 is pen and paper-based.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern For Paper I : SSC MTS Paper I will have four sections.  There will be Computer-Based Examination which is divided in 2 Sessions. Session-I and Session-II. The duration of the SSC MTS Exam will be 90 minutes for General Candidates and 120 minutes for PwD Candidates. Paper I is an objective type paper with four MCQ out of which one will be correct. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Session 2 and there will be no negative marking in Session-1.

SSC MTS Syllabus For Paper 2 : SSC MTS Paper 2 is intended to test elementary language skills because of the categorization of the post as Group-C and view of job requirements. One short essay/letter in English or any other language is included in the 8thschedule of the constitution. Paper-II is only qualifying in nature. However, marks scored by the candidates in Paper-II will be used to decide merit in case more than one candidate score equal normalized marks in Paper-I.
