The Tamilnadu Post Office has released a recruitment notification for the position of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS). The recruitment drive is being held to fill a total of 3167 vacancies for the post of GDS in the Tamilnadu Postal Circle. Additionally, the applicant should have studied the local language (as compulsory or elective subjects) at least up to Secondary standard.

The selection process for the GDS position will be based on a merit list generated from the marks obtained in the 10th standard exam. The final selection of candidates will be based on their performance in the certificate verification process.

The pay scale for the GDS position is as follows: Emoluments in the form of Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) is paid to GDS. The following minimum TRCA shall be payable to different categories of GDS after engagement:

• BPM: Rs.12,000/- Rs.29,380/-
• ABPM/DakSevak: Rs.10,000/- Rs.24470/-

Candidates are required to pay an application fee of Rs. 100/- to apply for the position. However, this fee is exempted for female candidates, SC/ST candidates, PwD candidates, and Transwomen candidates.
