Eligibility Criteria:

Educational Qualification:

(i) Must have passed Plus 2 with Tamil as one of the Subjects.
(ii) Must have passed Government Technical Examination in English Shorthand by Higher Grade / Senior Grade (120 w.p.m).
(iii) Must have passed Government Technical Examination in English Typewriting by Higher Grade / Senior Grade (45 w.p.m).
(iv) Working knowledge in Tamil Shorthand is required.
(v) The candidate should possess sufficient working knowledge of computer in the day to day functioning of Office..

Shorthand Skill: Proficiency in English shorthand (Lower Grade) with a speed of 80 words per minute.

Typewriting Skill: Ability to type at a speed of 30 words per minute in English.

Age Limit: (As on 01.07.2023)

  • For SC / ST / SC(A) Candidates- 18 to 37 Years
  • For BC / BC(M) / MBC/DC Candidates – 18 to 34 Years
  • For “Others” [i.e. Candidates not belonging to SCs, SC(A)s, STs, MBCs/DCs, BCs, and BCMs] – 18 to 32 Years

Salary: Selected candidates will receive a competitive salary package of Level 15 Rs.36,200 – 1,14,800/-as per the norms of the Tamil Nadu government.

Selection Process: The selection process for the TN Police Shorthand Bureau Junior Reporter 2024 recruitment typically involves the following stages:

Written Exam

Skill Test (Shorthand dictation) and interview
