UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2023 – Vacancy Details: The recruitment process is being conducted for 322 Assistant Commandants vacancies across various central armed police forces, which are as follows:

Border Security Force (BSF) – 86 vacancies
Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) – 55 vacancies
Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) – 91 vacancies
Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) – 30 vacancies
Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) – 60 vacancies

UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2023 – Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who wish to apply for the UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2023 must fulfill the eligibility criteria prescribed by the commission, which are as follows:

Educational Qualification: A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.

NOTE: Candidates who have appeared at an examination the passing of which would render them educationally qualified for the Commission’s examination but have not been informed of the results as also the candidates who intend to appear at such a qualifying examination in the year 2023 will also be eligible for admission to the examination. Such candidates will be admitted to the examination if otherwise eligible but the admission would be deemed to be provisional and subject to cancellation if they do not produce proof of having passed the requisite examination along with the Detailed Application Form which will be required to be submitted online by the candidates who after qualifying on the result of the written part of the examination are also declared qualified in the Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests. Such proof of passing the requisite examination should have been issued latest by closing date of Detailed Application Form of the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2023.

Age Limit:

  • A candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on 1st August, 2023, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1998 and not later than 1st August, 2003.
  • The upper age limit prescribed above will be relaxable.

(i) up to a maximum of five years if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe.

(ii) up to a maximum of three years in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes who are eligible to avail of reservation applicable to such candidates.

(iii) up to a maximum of five years for Civilian Central Government Servants in accordance with the existing instructions of the Central Government. Ex-Servicemen will also be eligible for this relaxation. However the total relaxation claimed on account of Government Service will be limited to five years.

UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2023 – Selection Process: The selection process for UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2023 comprises three stages:

Written Examination: Candidates who fulfill the eligibility criteria will have to appear for a written examination that will be conducted on 20th August 2023. The written examination will be conducted in two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2, for a total of 450 marks.
Physical Standards Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who qualify for the written examination will be called for PST and PET. The standards for PST and PET will be different for male and female candidates, and it will vary according to the central armed police force for which the candidate has applied.
Interview/Personality Test: Candidates who qualify in the PST and PET will be called for an interview/personality test. The interview/personality test will be conducted for 150 marks.

UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2023 – Salary: The salary for Assistant Commandants in Central Armed Police Forces will be as per the 7th Central Pay Commission, and it will vary according to the central armed police force for which the candidate has applied.

UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2023 – Application Process: The application process for UPSC CAPF Recruitment 2023 will be conducted online, and candidates can apply by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 1 : Visit the official website of UPSC, www.upsc.gov.in.

Step 2 : Click on the “Apply Online” link on the home page.

Step 3 : Fill in the application form with the required details and upload the necessary documents.

Step 4 : Pay the application fee through online mode.

Step 5 : Submit the application form and take a printout for future reference.

Application Fee:

  • Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST Candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay fee of Rs.200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only) either by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using Internet Banking of any Bank.
  • Applicants who opt for “Pay by Cash” mode should print the system generated Pay-in-slip during part II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only. “Pay by Cash” mode will be deactivated at 23.59 hours of 15.05.2023 i.e. one day before the closing date; however applicants who have generated their Pay-in- Slip before it is deactivated may pay at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date.
  • Such applicants who are unable to pay by cash on the closing date i.e during banking hours at SBI Branch, for reasons whatsoever, even if holding valid pay-in-slip will have no other offline option but to opt for available online Debit/Credit Card/UPI Payment or Internet Banking payment mode on the closing date i.e. till 18:00 Hours of 16.05.2023.
