Educational Qualification For UPSC ESE Recruitment 2022
- Obtained a degree in Engineering from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other Educational Institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities OR
- Passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or (c) obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from such foreign University/College/Institution and under such conditions as may be recognised by the Government for the purpose from time to time OR
- Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India) OR
- Passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India OR
- Passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959.
- Provided that a candidate for the post of Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engineering Posts) and Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group ‘A’ may possess any of the above qualifications or the qualification mentioned below namely:-
- For Indian Naval Armament Service (Electronics Engg. Posts) : M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a special subject.
- For Indian Radio Regulatory Service Group ‘A’: M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communication Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering as a subject or Master’s Degree in Science with Physics and Radio Communication or Electronics or Telecommunication as a special subject.
Age Limit For UPSC ESE Recruitment 2022
- A candidate for this examination must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1 st January, 2023.
- He/she must have been born not earlier than 2 nd January, 1993 and not later than 1 st January, 2002.
- The upper age limit of 30 years will be relaxable up to 35 years in the case of Government servants of the following categories, if they are employed in a Department/ Office under the control of any of the authorities mentioned in column 1 below and apply for admission to the examination for all or any of the Service(s)/Post(s) mentioned in column 2, for which they are otherwise eligible.
- The Upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC, 10 Years for Persons with Disabilities (15 years for SC/ST PWD’s & 13 years for OBC PWD’s) and for Ex-S as per Govt. of India rules.
- Candidates Relaxation in Upper Age limit will be provided as per Government Rules.
Application Fee For UPSC ESE Recruitment 2022
- Candidates (except Female/SC/ST/PwBD ) are required to pay fee of Rs. 200/-
- Application fee can be either by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using Internet Banking of any Bank.
- Applicants who opt for “Pay by cash” mode should print the system generated Pay-in slip during Part-II registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only. “Pay by cash” mode option will be deactivated at 11:59 PM of 03-10-2022.
- Applicants who have generated their Pay-in-slip before it is deactivated may pay at the counter of SBI Branch during banking hours on the closing date.
- Applicants who are unable to pay by cash on the closing date during banking hours to SBI Branch, for reason whatsoever, even if holding a valid Pay-in-slip, will have no other offline option but to opt for online Debit/Credit Card or Internet Banking Payment mode on the closing date i.e. till 6:00 PM of 04-10-2022

Recruitment to the Services/Posts mentioned above will be made on the basis of the scheme(s) of examination prescribed in the Notice. Candidates who are declared qualified on the result of Preliminary/Stage-I Examination will be required to indicate their preference for Services/Posts at the appropriate time in the Detailed Application Form. Candidates admitted to the examination under the proviso to para 3(III) will be considered only for the posts mentioned in the said proviso and their preference for other Services and Posts, if any, will be ignored. The candidates will be allotted to various Services/Posts strictly in accordance with their merit position, preferences exercised by them and number of vacancies, subject to their medical fitness. A candidate may apply for admission to the examination in respect of anyone of the categories of the Services/Posts.
