Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). (ii) Post-Graduate degree in the concerned specialty or super specialty mentioned in Section A Schedule VI of CHS Ruls from recognized Teaching Institute i.e. Doctorate of Medicine (Cardiology); or Diplomate National Board (Cardiology)
Experience: Three years ‘experience in the concerned Speciality or Super-Speciality after obtaining the first Post –Graduate degree.
2. Specialist Grade III (Nephrology) – (i) A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). (ii) Post-Graduate degree in the concerned specialty or super specialty mentioned in Section A of Schedule VI of CHS Rules, i.e. Doctorate of Medicine (Nephrology); or Diplomate National Board (Nephrology).
Experience: Three years ‘experience in the concerned Speciality or Super-Speciality after obtaining the first Post – Graduate degree
3. Specialist Grade III (Neuro- Surgery) – (i) A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). (ii) Post-Graduate degree in the concerned specialty or Super Specialty mentioned in Section A in Schedule VI of CHS Rules from recognized Teaching Institute i.e. Magister Chirurguie (Neuro Surgery); or Diplomate National Board (Neuro Surgery). Experience: Three years ‘experience in the concerned Speciality or super specialty after obtaining the first Post –Graduate degree
4. Specialist Grade III (Tuberculosis & Respiratory medicine/pulmonary medicine) –  (i) A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions specified in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956). (ii) Post-graduate Degree or Diploma in the concerned Speciality of Super-speciality mentioned in Section-A or Section-B in Schedule VI of CHS rules i.e., Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis); or Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases); or Diplomate National Board (Tuberculosis)/ (Tuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases); or Doctor of Medicine (Medicine) with Diploma in Tuberculosis Diseases; Doctor of Medicine (Medicine) with Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases; or Diplomate National Board (Medicine) with Diploma in Tuberculosis Diseases; or Diplomate National Board (Medicine) with Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases; or Doctor of Medicine (Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases) or Diplomate National Board (Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases); or Post Graduate Diploma in Tuberculosis Diseases; or Post Graduate Diploma in Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases
Experience: Three years’ experience in the concerned Speciality or super-speciality after obtaining the first Post-graduate degree or five years’ experience after obtaining the Post-graduate Diploma.
5. Scientist ‘B’ (Civil Engineering) – Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or institute. NOTE: The Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission, for reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Experience: Having at least three years research experience in Civil Engineering related to Hydraulics/ Coastal and Harbor /Water Resources/Geotechnical.
6. Scientist ‘B’ (Earth Sciences) – Master’s Degree in Earth Science/ GeoPhysics/Physics/ Geology/ Oceanography from a recognized University or Institute.
Experience: Having three years research experience in Coastal Geology/ geophysical data analysis/ hydraulic modeling related to water/ power/coastal aspects.
7. Scientist ‘B’ (Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering) – Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering from a recognized university or institute.
Experience: Having at least three years research experience in Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering related to water/power/marine aspects.
8. Assistant Director (Official Language) – Master’s Degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; Or Master’s Degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; Or Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as medium of a examination at the degree level; Or Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as medium of a examination at the degree level; Or Master’s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level.
Experience: Three years’ experience of using or applying Terminology (terminological work) in Hindi and translation work from English to Hindi or vice-versa, preferably of technical or scientific literature under the Central or State Governments or Autonomous Body or Statutory Organisations or Public Sector Undertakings or Universities or recognized research or educational institutions; Or Three years’ experience of teaching in Hindi and English or research in Hindi or English under Central or State Governments or Autonomous Body or Statutory Organisations or Public Sector Undertaking or Universities or recognized research or educational institutions.
Desirable: Studied one of the languages other than Hindi included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution at 10th standard level from a recognized Board.
Specialist Grade III (General Surgery) –  A recognized MBBS qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. Holders of Educational qualifications included in Part II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub-section (3) of section 13 of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (ii) Post-graduate Degree in the concerned speciality mentioned in Section-A in Schedule VI or equivalent i.e., M.S. (Surgery); or M.S. (General Surgery).
Experience: Three years, experience in the concerned speciality after obtaining the first Post Graduate Degree.

Age Limit: (As on 15.02.2024)

1. Specialist Grade III (Cardiology) – 45 years for SCs, 43 years for OBCs and 40 years for URs
2. Specialist Grade III (Nephrology) – 45 years for SCs, 43 years for OBCs and 40 years for URs
3. Specialist Grade III (Neuro- Surgery) – 45 years for STs, 43 years for OBCs and 40 years for URs
4. Specialist Grade III (Tuberculosis & Respiratory medicine/pulmonary medicine) – 43 years for OBCs and 40 years for URs.
5. Scientist ‘B’ (Civil Engineering) – 45 years for PwBDs, 40 years for SCs/STs, 38 years for OBCs and 35 years for EWS/URs

Salary: Candidates selected for Specialist Grade III, Scientist ‘B,’ and Assistant Director posts will be entitled to a competitive salary package as per the rules and regulations of UPSC. The exact salary structure, allowances, and other benefits will be specified in the appointment letter.
