Eligibility Criteria:
Citizenship: Applicants must be citizens of India.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01/01/2024. Candidates born between 01/01/1999 and 01/01/2006 (both days inclusive) should only apply. Candidates Relaxation in Upper Age limit will be provided as per Govt. Rules
Educational Qualification:
Level 5/4 (7th PC) – Graduate in any discipline from a recognized University.
Level 3/2 (7th PC) – Passed 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination. Educational Qualification must be from a Recognized Institution. OR Passed Matriculation from recognized Board plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship. OR Passed Matriculation from recognized Board plus ITI approved by NCVT/SCVT.
Level 1 (7th PC) – Passed 10th or its equivalent examination. OR ITI OR Equivalent OR National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT Educational Qualification must be from a Recognized Institution.
Note: Persons if appointed to the category of Clerk-cum-Typist should acquire Typing proficiency Test of 30 w.p.m. in English or 25 w.p.m. in Hindi within a period of four years from the date of appointment and till such time their appointments to this category will be provisional. Candidates possessing higher qualification should produce relevant certificate at the time of trial.
Sports Achievements:
a) Only those sports persons who have acquired the following sports achievement eligibility norms in the championship after 01/04/2021 and are active, will be eligible to apply for appointment against above posts under Sports Quota.
b) For validity of sports achievement, concluding day of the championship/event shall be taken into account.
c) The specific position played in the particular discipline, if applicable should be mentioned in the ONLINE Application without fail.
Minimum Sports Norms required:
Level 5/4
(A) Represented the Country in Olympic Games (Senior Category) OR
(B) At least 3rd Position in the World Cup (Junior/ Youth/Senior Category)/ World Championships (Junior/Senior Category)/ Asian Games (Senior Category) / Commonwealth Games (Senior Category)/Youth Olympics/Champions Trophy (Hockey) OR Thomas/Uber Cup (Badminton)
Level 3/2:
(A) Represented the Country in the World Cup (Junior/ Youth/Senior Category)/ World Championships (Junior/Senior Category)/ Asian Games (Senior Category) / Commonwealth Games (Senior Category)/Youth Olympics/Champions Trophy (Hockey) OR Thomas/Uber Cup (Badminton) OR
(B) At least 3rd position in the Commonwealth Championship (Junior/Senior Category / Asian Championship/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior Category)/South Asian Federation Games (Senior Category )/ USIC (World Railways) Championship (Senior Category ) /World University Games OR
(C) At least 3″ Position in Senior/Youth/Junior National Championships OR
(D) At least 3rd position in National Games organized under aegis of Indian Olympic Association OR
(E) At least 3″ position in All India Inter University Championship organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities OR
(F) 1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior category).
Level 1:
(A) Represented in Commonwealth Championship (Junior/Senior) OR Asian Championship/Asia Cup (Junior/Senior) OR South Asian Federation Games (senior) or USIC (World Railways) Championship (Senior Category) OR
World University Games. Or Alteast 3ed position in Federation Cup Championships (senior) OR
Represented a State or Equivalent with atleast 8th position in Senior National Championships only.
Salary: Selected candidates will be entitled to the salary structure as per the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) and allowances applicable to the specified post.
Selection Process: The selection process for Western Railway Recruitment 2023 for Sports Person Posts will comprise of:
Trials: The eligible applicants will be called for trials, which will be held to assess their sports skills and achievements.
Interview: Qualified candidates from the trials will undergo an interview for further evaluation.
Document Verification: After the interview, document verification will be conducted to confirm eligibility criteria.
All eligible candidates will be called for trial and after trial, only the FIT candidates (securing 25 or more, out of 40 marks for Game skill, physical fitness and coach’s observations during trial) shall be assessed for next stage of recruitment. Candidates declared NOT FIT by the Trial Committee will not be assessed further by the Recruitment Committee.

- For candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Ex-Servicemen/ Persons with Disability/ Women/Minorities* and Economic Backward Class**: Rs. 250/- (Rs. Two Hundred Fifty Only) with a provision of refunding the same to those who are found eligible as per notification and actually appeared in the Trial, after deducting bank charges. Candidates in this category should check their eligibility thoroughly before applying.
- The payment can be made by using Debit Card / Credit Card / Internet Banking etc. by providing required details information as asked on the screen. Transaction charges for online payment, if any, will be borne by the candidates
